Dear Hope7 - How much I relate to how you are feeling. It is the weekend and again I sat on the couch most of it and watched television. I too know that I am not living but just existing. But I keep telling myself to enjoy the little moments of joy even if it is just a soothing cup of tea and a good book. I can not say that I believe in the program because I have started it twice now and I am still a prisoner to my own mind. But I just try to go day by day and some days are pretty good, so I am grateful for that. My thoughts are with you and keep going.
I felt just like that last month (depression wise) I had no motivation (I was also sick w/some virus from the first week of Jan through the 3rd week of March) Last week I started taking my dog for a walk every day, two to three walks a day for a total of 40 minutes to an hour of walking, I also had to force myself to do things around the house like making my bed as soon as I got up and keeping the house picked up and dusting and vacuuming every other day. I found once I started exercising and doing things around the house my depression started to lift. I've also started eating much healthier and that made me feel better too.
I still have the anxiety (although not as bad was taking my anxiety meds 3 times a day now i'm down to once a day or no pills a day) but the depression has really lifted somewhat since I started doing all of these things.
Sometimes you just have to force yourself to do things, for me my anxiety was so bad from Jan through March I couldn't get on the net all I could do was watch tv then even tv wasn't keeping my mind occupied so I started reading any books I could find once that stopped working I realized I had to get myself up and start moving around and it worked. Like I said I still have the anxiety but the depression has gotten better and better since I started walking every day.
