Trouble swallowing freaking me out anyone?

I have been for 3 days now suffering from really bad dry throat and difficulty swallowing. It is freaking me out and i seem to be hyperfocused on it now almost thinking about every time i swallow. I had read that its common with anxiety but its so scary and was wondering what peoples experience with this if any and hi hope to God it goes away.....

I would suggest treating it as a panick episode maybe. Remind yourself it is just anxiety. Don't focus so much on it, the more you focus on it the more it grows, the more you feed it so to say!!

Hi Hockey,

Looks like you and I are going thru the same things these days. I saw you had posted a reply to my April 12 thread about the dry throat issue. How are you doing now? I am sill going thru this. Its been like 3 months for me. Dry irritated feeling in the throat. A slight cough and a clicking feeling when I swallow. I have no pain and I am going along doing the things I usually do, but boy its annoying. I hope its not anything serious. I had a dental cleaning yesterday and I asked my dentist about it and the first thing he asked me was whether or not I am under stress these days. And of couse I told him... YES, BIG TIME!

It seems to cone and go but it scares the he'll out of me. I know it stress induced but that doesn't seem to matter when it's happening. I've been drinking a lot of tea and that help but when I'm super focused I think about every swallow. It's so frustrating and I hope it goes away. I have a feeling the more I hope the more likely it will stay. Just have to face the fear of it and kniw I'm not going to die and just deal with it being super uncomfortable. Could the throat issues started out as post nasal drip?
