I find I am just not comfortable journaling for privacy reasons. I have never kept a physical journal that didn't end up being read my someone at some later point. Keeping it online is slightly better, but still not 100% comfortable and in someways even less due to the permanent storage.
Does anyone else feel this way about journaling or am I crazy? lol.

I wouldn't say you are crazy at all!!
I can understand where you are coming from!! I have had that same worry. I decided I would go ahead and do it anyway, what is the worst that can come from someone reading it. I could see my boyfriend being maybe offended, but I have let him know that is my personal book and I would like him to not read it, if he chooses to and then is offended, that is his own problem for reading my personal stuff against my wishes. They are my thoughts and feelings and if that bothers him, then maybe he should not read it.
I could also suggest, I believe a lot of the writting is more just the act of writting. Sometimes it is easier to "figure thing out" or "work through things" by writting about it instead of just thinking about and thinking and thinking. Once that act has been completed I don't think we really need it any longer. We don't really have to go back and read over it so maybe when you need to write something go ahead, then when you are done tear it up, shred it, burn it or dispose of it in some manner... then it can't be read later and you have been able to get you thoughts/feelings out instead of keeping them in your mind

Well said, IWBB. I have made it a rule that I won't write anything that someone else can't read. This may seem self defeating for some, but I have not experienced it that way.
For myself I do not need to spell things out to know what I'm referring to. On paper I can also shred it any time I want to. Writing is a great pleasure almost every day trying to focus on the positives.

I agree with iwillbebetter's second paragraph. I wrote a journal entry every day for January and
February. Later on I decided to go back to re-read the entries. After I read the entries I then
shredded the pages. I am now writing my March journals and I am sure that I will eventually
re-read them also and then shred them up in my cross-cut shredder.
I like to write and find it very therapeutic and free-ing. I like to write letters to and I like to
write on the website, it get's my feelings and emotions and ideas out of my head and on to "paper".
I understand about your need for privacy, journaling may not be for everyone.
