Keith,
Your situation struck me. You said that you lost your job due to anxiety. What happened? What was your job? Have you been able to look for work since? I an a Human Resources Manager and often spend time talking to employees who struggle with one thing or another. I think it's terrible that someone in the company wasn't there to help you.

HI my names is Andrew, I have loved the program thus far. I feel that most of my aniexty is due to post stressful experiences, negative thoughts, and social aniexties mixed with a depression. I really felt like this program has answered many of my questions, and helped me know why I don't feel as normal as most people. I fear for my future job.. I hope that I can overcome my anxieties with this program. I know that if I didn't have problems with anxiety I probably would still be pursuing a commision as an officer in the United States Airforces. I find both of your post interesting because I now am pursuing a degree in Human Resource hoping to work as a civilian an a military base. I know that I need to apply this program or it will be very difficult for me to perform as a Human Resource Generalist. I'm very grateful for this program. I'm still learning how to use this peer support program but I would like to keep in touch with you Dave and Keith!
Hello Dave,
I too lost my job due to stress and anxiety. I too didn't have anyone there to help or talk to and have several thoughts on the matter. Ultimately, it comes down to two things, I think. First, the company and its employees (hereinto known as they) have their own fears, apprehensions and most often staying inside their comfort level that they can’t or are afraid to help or offer advice. If they do offer hope, this may fall under the same umbrella as addictive problems and the company may be required to financially help the affected employee through counseling programs. Second, maybe it’s just easier to hire a new employee that’s not having problems.
In my case, it took 8 months to figure out what was wrong with me as my symptoms were so varied. No company can have one of the two marketing people out for that long without having to at least cover with temps. When I tried to return to work, against the advice of my doctor, I was told my job no longer was available and I could take something in accounting. This was in 2006. I found out a month ago that my supervisor wasn’t even questioned about my return and the HR Director made this decision unbeknownst to anyone in the company. Power trips may also play a role.
