New participant

Post by carolyn59 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:07 pm

I am almost 60 years old and am finally admitting to my anxiety and panic attacks. I feel that it is a weakness that I am not quite ready to admit too. I have been having panic attacks off and on since I was 12 but recently it has gotten worse and I have not been able to drive for 2 years. I am ready to get my life back.

Welcome!! You've come to the right place :) We're here to help on your journey to recovery. Admitting that you have anxiety is the first step and most often, the most difficult. But it sounds like you're ready to get to work.

You have many nice years left. Seize them. I am many years older, but refuse to waste one moment.

Do you have the program here? Some people have said you can even get it on e-bay. It is based on CBT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy. You can look that up and maybe find some direct online help or with a therapist. Best wishes to you; things are looking up.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I feel confident that as long as I stay with this program it will work. The journal has helped a lot. My husband even said that he may start to write things down. I have had a very bad time at work this week so I really needed to write a lot down. I even went to the store and bought 3 more notebooks to make sure that I have enough!! Best of luck to all out there and if you need to talk, I am here.

Hi everyone, I am also new. Just started week 1. I'm 51 years old and have had anxiety disorder all my life. Was diagnosed as a young adult and have coped very well over the years. However, saw this infomercial and thought wow, that is describing me!!!! So glad to hear that so many of you feel the same way and excited and hopeful that God has brought me to this program to be rid of all my insecurities and fears once and for all!! Blessings to you all.

I also saw this advertisement. My husband told me to order is because it described me to a T. I have always felt this attacks made me weak. But it doesn't. I always thought that I was the only one going through this. My seven year old grandson asked me today why I didn't drive anymore. What could I say? I told him that I will one day. I just hope I am right. Driving has me terrified. I am a strong person and I WILL WIN THIS INNER BATTLE.
