Hi!
I am on session 3 positive self talk which she says is the most important session! I am trying really hard to track and write down my negative thoughts but I am not sure it is helping me be more positive! Its hard for me to replace my negative with positive and go to the positive state! Any help would be wonderful!
Thanks!

Hi ashyp!!! :)

I am also on session 3 and would love some advice too. This one is such a challenge for me that I'm going to repeat it again this week.
Glad to here that I'm not the only one having a hard time with this.

I agree with both of u. I actually just finished session 3 and I think I'm gonna repeat it because I really want to get this down. It's not easy to retrain ur brain to do positive thinking when all ya know is negative

Hi -- I've been trying to work on changing my negative thoughts into positve ones also. I got the following from book:

Instead of What If.. Say So what--I can handle this. I can be anxious and still do this. This may be scary, but I can tolerate a little anxiety knowing that it will pass or I'll get used to this with practice.

Instead of puting yourself down... Say I'm okay the way I am..I'm lovable and capable, I'm a unique and creative person. I deserve the good things in life as much as anyone else. I accept and believe in myself. I am worthy of respect of others.

Instead of feeling hopeless... Say I don't have to b e all better by tomorrow. I can continue to make progress one step at a time. I acknowledge the progress I've made and will continue to improve. It's never to late to change, I'm willing to see the glass half full, rather than half empty.

Instead of demanding perfection...It's okay to make mistakes. Life is too short to be taken too seriuosly. Setbacks are part of the process and an important learning experience. I don't have to always be... or my needs and feelings are as important as anyone elses.

I hope this helps. Hang in there.
