When you are trying to suppress your anxiety and depression, etc, they overwhelm you, but when you try to shine a light on them, they hide? When I am meditating, and I imagine a stressful situation, it is hard for me to really experience it, but when I wake up at 3:00 in the morning with my heart pounding, I cannot get away from it.

Sounds like maybe an obsessive, scary thought to me, Peace. Just make sure to tell yourself that its just a thought, it can't hurt you if you dont let it. Gratz on trying to face fears. :)

Interesting. I kind of know what you mean. When I try to imagine feeling bad sometimes I can't imagine it. Like when I think about a loved one dying, I try to make myself feel bad, but I can't. Then other times I'm just anxious and fearful of things like this. Pretty weird, huh?
