Hello,

A side from the relaxation CD, what are you doing to relieve stress from your neck? You know...that tight feeling that makes it difficult to swallow.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I have a lot of problems with neck and upper back pain due to stress. I found a good Youtube video on this.

Along the right side of the page you can click on other neck tension videos.

Right now I am seeing a physiotherapist that on Friday is going to start giving me exercises to do to strengthen my neck.

I saw her yesterday and she said what I really needed right now is to see a registered massage therapist as your neck muscles and back muscles can truly get "bent out of shape". So, I am considering this.

However, I think the exercises she is going to give me will really help - she said they were not difficult and they only take a few minutes a day.

Perhaps also try googling for something like "neck stress relief' or "neck tension exercises". I do meditation a lot, but even though it helps me relax my body, the neck tension is still there.

The number one thing, though, she told me was never shrug your shoulders. Be aware of your shoulders. People with anxiety tend to keep their shoulders up, whereas they should always be relaxed and down. To get them down, and for proper posture, watch this Youtube video. It is excellent:

Good luck! We both need this!
