Agoraphobia Help
Thanks. I will have to try to get my anxiety levels down since I am having panic attacks at home. I probably am trying to get through this too quick. I just want it to be over now so I can get back to work. You are correct about the imagination thing. I always imagine the worst. If I feel a little strange somewhere in my body I think I'm going to die. If I get even a cold I feel like I will die from it. Nothing lasts forever though.
I got over mine when I got half way thru the program but had listened to each CD twice before I moved on to the next one. Then I started going out but only to a "safe place" then on my way home from the "safe" place I would make a quick stop at a "not-so safe place" and little by little expanded. My big not saf eplace always seemed to be restaurants (because you are held there until the food is cooked) I would be tapping my foot like I was a runner waiting for the starting pistol...like they say Baby steps. You'll get through it.
Coming to these boards and writing a little to people who are going thru something that I have already been thru seems to ease it too. Like now, while I am writing this to you by current anxiety attack that I have had for the last 3 hours, just stopped.
Maybe its a pay it forward kind of thing...hope you find your answers here...

Inside every older person is a younger person wondering, "What the heck happened?"
