Dating makes me nervous!!!
Tonight I have a date, and I feel uncomfortably nervous. This guy is really nice, but doesn't really know much about my issues with anxiety. Im kinda freaking out. We are meeting up in 5 hours or so, and I feel I need some positive reinforcement here. How do I turn this nervousness into excitement?
When I am anxious it is because I am living in the future. When I am depressed it is because I am living in the past. ~Author Unknown
Jadee,
Your nervousness is your excitement. You have to tell yourself that "I'm anxious because I am excited to go on this date, its okay to feel this way." Go with the flow when you meet this guy and live in the moment, not worrying about what to expect if it doesn't go well, but really enjoy the moment that you have with this guy. He should be a good distraction and you won't have to think about living in the future...live in the NOW! Easier said than done I know but, it can be done.
BTW: I like that quote you posted...gave me something to think of.
God Bless!

I guess you've probably gone on your date by now, how did it go? I was always so nervous going on dates, most people are. Just float with the feelings and they will pass. He's probably nervous too
I was SO nervous on my first date with my now boyfriend, hehe I can laugh at it now because I'm so comfortable with him and we've been together for over two and a half years.
Just tell yourself that it's excitement, that's all there really is to it

The date was good
I didnt mention that it was a "blind date". I think thats why I was so nervous in the first place. We met up at a local pub, played some pool, had a couple beers and just chatted. Good night all in all and I am glad I didnt bail last minute.. tho i did consider it. I was way to distracted to feel anxious, and for once I felt like myself, or the person I know I can be when I let go of the negative thoughts:)Now if I could just apply that to the other areas of my life...
