depression symptom
Curtstl7,
I get that same restlessness too. I don't know if it's the depression or the anxiety. Depression is what I struggle with mostly, but I've found that I have alot of anxiety symptoms that I hadn't named until I started the program.
Just this weekend I was struggling with the extreme restlessness. I just couldn't sit still. I was working around the house and as soon as I sat down I found I was looking around for something to do. It really got to me and eventually I wound up feeling really insufficient and like I couldn't do anything right. I don't know why those 2 things are linked for me, but they are. Relaxation helps, if you can get your brain to quit telling you that you should be doing something else. LOL. It's a catch 22 on the bad days and on the not so bad days it's just funny--like something you'd see in a movie. Over time you'll learn what works for you and overcome it.
Peace

I've been off my meds for over a year, thanks to the program, so my restlessness is definitely a symptom of the depression/anxiety. When I was walking on a regular basis, I found I could think more clearly. I was still restless in general, but I did a better job at letting it spur me into activity that helped me think clearly. Perhaps that's what my body is trying to tell me. Get moving so you can think through all these thoughts. I do alot of my problem-solving during periods of physical activity like house-cleaning.
Which would explain my afore-mentioned feelings of insignificance. Growing up, I was the stellar child who did all the chores. I did it for attention, but it backfired because the only attention I got was negative when the chores weren't done. So it seems that I'm still feeling the repercussions of a life long cycle. I'm going to have to re-frame some things again. It is a process. I'm going to do relaxation now. :0)
