effexor
my husband was on effexor 150mg for a year. he weaned himself over a month by taking 1/2 a dose or .75 for a week or 2, then 1/2 of that or .375mg to give your body a chance to adjust from the half life of the drug. he had no withdrawal and needed to be mindful of his thinking and hasnt had any since.
good luck!
good luck!
I am on Effexor 150mg a day. I came off it once and it was terrible. The withdrawl symptoms were awful. I was tingly all over, was nauseous, dizzy, weird vision, loss of appetite. It lasted almost a week then was gone. The worst part was, is my anxiety and panic attacks came back and I'm now back on it. Thinking about coming off of it again scares me knowing how awful I felt trying to ween myself off. The doc said the side effects were normal though. Hopefully it goes better for u since everybody is different. Good luck!
thanks for the info... hope you do well too... the doc told me sometimes folks just need the meds... especially with the two roll-ver accidents and brain trauma.. so we'll see... it's just soooooo expensive... but God can handle that too... all the money in the world is HIS... so i'm sure it will all work out... i appreciate your help...

hi,
i talked to mike who weaned himself off effexor and he said to pay attention to your body as he experienced "brain shocks" . that was his body saying he needed a little more during the weaning process, so if he went to 75mg and experienced his brain reacting, he would increase it slightly that day. it is a process for the brain to stop being dependent on the chemical and learn to make its own. by the end of the weaning process, he even counted out 20 of the "pills" within the pill capsule to measure closely. and you're right, it is expensive. it served a purpose for a period of time. it also works less effectively after a year+ use.
