I've been given an anti-depressant but I am not depressed, however I do have a lot of panic attacks and anxiety.
So what I want to know is.
"Is there a med just for anixety that you can take everyday?"

If you don't want to addictive benzodiapines like Klonopin, Valium, Xanax or Ativan, then try Buspar it is better. Some people can take the benzo and not get addictive to them.

I personally prefer the Ativan because you only take it if you feel you need it. So it isn't something you have to take everyday.
I too suffer from severe panic attacks and chronic anxiety. So for me it works better. I even cut it into smaller doses if I don't feel I need it as much. I just feel I have more control over what I put in my body and when.
Good luck

Hi,
I had the same issue happen to me about 11 years ago and was kept on various anti-dep's for most of those years although I was not depressed. I, like you had chronic anxiety and panic attacks topped with undefeatable insomnia. Benzo's are or can be very addictive as mentioned. But can be helpful if used properly. The only non-benzo that I have taken that is not an anti-dep and can be taken every day is a med called Neurontin, generic; Gabapentin- 600 mg's. They are a half life med and you can't take to much (so I am told) because you pee the excess out, like vitamin C. I found it to work well once I got the amount per day to take that worked for me. I also had a back up of valium and klonopin for my real hard days, nights, and attacks. But the Neurontin cut my panic attacks out... pretty much. Everyone's different as we know, but hope this helps. Good Luck! Hope the program gets all of us off our med's!!
