I have been on vacation for the past week, which has been great. I head back to work monday.

My job is very stressful to me. I get frustrated because our owners of the company lie and are unethical at times.

I may have a job opening in October with a Christian administrator and owner.

Right now I feel conflicted for working for someone I don't respect. They are really cheap but have 17 snowmobiles, and 1000 dollar car payments and 25,000 fish ponds. We get dumped way to much on our plate.

I hope that people will pray for me to have peace focus, and joy while I follow the Lords leading. They said they were very family friendly but are the exact opposite and make you feel guilty if you are sick or go to a funeral.

Any prayers would be greatly appreciated. Pray also that I will not be bitter when I feel disrespected and unappreciated.

Nick,

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will move Nick to where you want him to be. Lord, give him peace, prosperity, wisdom, and a sound mind. Lord I ask you to lead him in his steps. Lord I ask you to bless him with an opportunity to succeed, and prosper him with many blessings. Lord you know his heart and his stuggles and you know what he needs, please Lord help him in his journey in this life. Lord help him with his anxiety please Lord give him a sound mind. Lord I ask you this in your mighty name, amen,

The Lord will move you in the right direction and you will soon know what that direction is. Just sit and wait on him to guide you in your steps. Don't worry God doesn't lead you to a place or thing that he will not lead you through. God bless you!

Tight Places

Marybeth Whalen

"Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer."

Psalm 4:1 (NIV)

Devotion:

If someone asked you what it feels like to be stressed, anxious, worried or overwhelmed, how would you put it into words? The best way I can describe those feelings is that it is as though something is pressing in on me, pushing me down emotionally and preventing me from escaping my situation. It feels I'm in a tight place. The more these feelings build up, the more I want to lash out, strike out, or push back against my burdens. Though I might look okay on the outside (oh, those masks we wear), inside I am screaming and flailing about. Do you ever feel this way?

Stress comes at us every day, in a thousand different ways. Job stress, money stress, kid stress, house stress, medical stress, relationship stress--the list goes on. Try as we might, we can't escape it in this broken world. We feel trapped and imprisoned by these things we cannot change, and they weigh heavily on us. When I read the verse for today, I was struck by the explanation in my Bible for the word, "relief." It literally means, "make room for me in tight places." Wow. I can totally identify with that idea!

I know what it feels like to want someone to come along and make room for me in my tight places. Someone to remove the boundaries and burdens which threaten to smother me with their nearness. My stress level mounts, my blood pumps in my ears, and my hope takes flight. Whether it is the little irritations in life like being stuck in a car with a screaming toddler, or the big burdens of wondering about the future of my husband's job, I know these tight place feelings all too intimately.

We all do.

I love that this verse shows us Someone who can come and offer relief. So many times, we try to make our own space in our tight places--handling things on our own and attempting to solve problems without ever calling on the One who best knows how to make room for us. He is faithful to give us emotional elbow room, easing our burdens and offering us His wisdom. He shows us mercy when we call on Him, hearing our prayers and rescuing us from tight places. The next time you feel stressed, anxious, worried or overwhelmed, call out to Christ and let Him find you in your tight place, and make room where you thought there was none.

Dear Lord, thank You for being the God who is near. When our tight places press in on us, Your presence is what we need. Thank You for offering us relief no matter what our circumstances. Help us to remember to call on You in our tight places. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Hope this is a blessing for you.......

It's in the place of silence that the Holy Spirit boils the truth we receive from Scripture down to its essence, reveals specific insights that are pertinent, and then applies them to our most perplexing problems and our most stubborn misconceptions. As He transforms our heart to beat in sync with His, our decisions begin to accomplish His will and we begin to reflect His character. Go ahead, try it. Open the Word of God in a peaceful place and sit in quietness before Him. In time, the Holy Spirit will illuminate a passage and it will come to life in your mind. Before you know it the knotty situation that drove you to distraction will unravel.

As you learn to "be still" in God's presence, your greatest problems will suddenly become more manageable. He will reveal Himself to you. He will calm your emotions and relieve your mind. You'll discover new direction, freedom from worry, and a fresh sense of peace.

All I can say is that you are thinking right and those are some great prayers.
I am in the tightest place I can ever remember being in my whole life of 51 years so I would appreciate all your prayers for me too.
Thank you God that prayer is more powerful than we know and that you are with us Always.
We praise you for who you are and thank you for the victory that you have won. Thank you that, even now, You are working things together for good. Thank you for the answers to these prayers that we know you are already working in our lives.
We offer these thanks and these prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.

GoBucks22- I'll send some very positive thoughts your way that this job in October materializes for you. No one deserves to be in a work environment like you described but unfortunately it happens.(a lot) Try focusing (or praying) on what kind of environment you would like to work in. To paraphrase an author of a book "What you put your focus on grows."(credit to Louis Hay)

SCDon-- I'm still meditating and sending positive thoughts to you for your employment situation - And will continue to do so until you post on here that you don't need them anymore. So make sure you let us know, otherwise I will be sending these thoughts forever! lol

Hello Again,

Still at my job. The new job where I might have an offer is constructing 10 skilled rehab beds It is right across the street from my apartment and I pray sometimes for the Holy Spirt to bless that place. They should be done in October or November.

I just had a week off as I have to use all my time before Dec. 6th

I was a little discouraged today as our secretary quit. it seems they were trying to force her out in a witch hunt She wrote a lengthy e-mail which they tried to shut down the server and get into peoples emails to keep people from reading it. She was a great employee and a Christian woman. Not perfect by all means but I thought she did a great job.

It was depressing because on the one hand I know I can focus on my patients but on the other feel torn for working for people who are scoundrels and treat people like they tried to do this woman.

Am I too hard on them. Is there such thing as a good company to work for or are they all greedy liars.

Please pray for me.

hello all,

I have a job interview at a hospital near where I live Wednesday at 8:30.

Please pray for me to have peace and poise and confidence to be humble and not afraid of failure.

I worry that I will have an anxiety attack and be embarrassed and not get the job.

Pray that if it is lords will that he would open a door that cannot be shut.

I got the job at the hospital in an acute care rehab setting!

I am excited because it is a bigger and more stable situation where I will be part of a team and have lots of support and learning opportunities

I start Dec. 8th. I know that I will fret and worry until then and while there some too, but am hopeful and thankful for the opportunity to do my best.

Thank You for all the prayers. As far as I can tell I don't have any conflicted emotions about taking the job. They are non-profit do community service and take in the down trodden, what my company I'm leaving said they were but were not.

Nick
