Both are anti-depressants, and take several weeks to come on board. I found that larazapam helped for immediate anxiety relief. I take it as needed; ;my daughter takes busbar (bupropion) regularly for anxiety. Xanax is often prescribed, but I believe it has more of a tendency to be addictive.

Hi,
I couldn't handle Zoloft. I had very bad side effects, personally. I have never tried celexa. There are so many different things out there to take and they effect everyone so differently. I take Prozac 20 mg and Xanax 1 mg daily. I plan on taking the Xanax only until I am on the correct amount of Prozac. I have been slowing working up on the Prozac. For me I can see, like Davevk mentioned, that the Xanax could be addictive. I know my personality. I have only been taking for about a month and I noticed a day I decided not to take it. I had a mild panic attack. It makes me sleepy but it does help with my symptoms. Work closely with your doctor if you deceide to try one or the other. I feel when on meds its important to work with your doctor. I have been told by several doctors that i will need to take meds all my life however I dont think that by only taking meds my issues will go away and that they need to still be addressed. Its seems like a slow process but i am making head way with my psych. Best of luck.
