Hi, everyone! This is kind of a gross question, but it is one that I really need to ask anyway.

When I get really, really stressed out--more so than the usual high stress--more like extreme stress, I throw up. My stomach will start to hurt, and throwing up is the only thing that makes it feel better. Believe me that I don't want or like to do this. I am also not bulimic. I just end feeling so nauseated, and then I feel like I have to throw up, and then I do. This has been something that has come on in the last few years. I haven't had this problem for five years. But the last time, I was so sick for about two weeks--couldn't keep an ounce of food or water down for very long. This has only happened four times over the last two weeks, but I am concerned that it could escalate. I see my pdoc next week and plan to discuss it with him, but I was wondering if anyone else experiences this. Sorry for the icky nature of my post, but I appreciate all replies!

Your doctor can rx something to help (I hope). This is not good for your system, and it's not good for your teeth (which have a lot to do with good health).

Tea always settles my stomach when I don't feel well. But in your case, probably doc has an rx that is better.

I had this experience about three weeks ago when I was really having my most difficult time with agoraphobia and extreme anxiety. I was having a hard time keeping anything in me and lost 13 pounds in a week. However, what I have found that helps is to have something in my stomach every couple of hours. My anxiety tends to peak in the evening so, I know this is a particular sensitive time for my stomach. I typically feel nauseaus during those hours. So, I try to eat earlier in the day and then eat easy to digest, tummy comfort foods later in the day.....I also have being doing meal supplement shakes that help...they give you all the nutrients and are easy to tolerate. Using your relaxation tapes and other skills may help and journaling when you are feeling your worse. I also lived on Pepto Bismol for about two weeks. That acutally really helped. I am not needing that anymore. Not sure if you are on any medications but, my doctor put me on a medication that settled my entire nervous system and that has helped as well. I hope you find comfort......

Thanks for your replies, pecos and formyboys! I really appreciate it! I do go see my doctor on Thursday, and I plan to mention this to him. So far, it has not gotten to the point where it is all day long, and I can't even keep water down. That's a really scary experience, so I'm trying to nip this thing in the bud. I will give you guys an update after I see the doc on Thursday.
