I'm a very spiritual person and find that meditating is very helpful in controlling my anxieties. TM has always been an interest for me, but I have never really pursued it. Does anyone have any first-hand (or second-hand) experiences with TM? It is supposed to be a specific type of meditation, but how is it different from regular meditation where you sit still and quiet the mind? Does it take long to learn and has it been worthwhile?

Inner Peace, I tried this once in a yoga class. It was very innvigorating and peaceful. We laid down completely flat (kind of like the corpse pose in yoga) and our teacher talked us thru the process. During it, he had us envision our souls leaving our bodies and floating up... Its not something I could do on my own b/c I don't really understand the messages and affirmations, but that or yoga are great ways to relax and quiet the mind. If you are able to, I'd do some searching on the internet and find out if there are any classes you can take with an instructor to walk you thru the process. It's cool.

Dr. Brian Wiess has a web site where you can purchase cd's. They are all very good and help with meditation and relaxation.
