Hi all. My name is Wendy. I just ordered the program yesterday and am ready for it to get here. I have had panic/depression for the past 10 years and it seems like everytime I figure out a symptom another one pops up. I live in a small town where people would think I belong in a psych ward, so my disorder is like a big secret and no one really understands it. So it will be nice to talk to people who actually know how I feel.

Many of us come from that small town and totally understand what you mean! We are not like that here though, for we all understand what it is like.
Be excited about the program coming and enjoy it!! By week 3 I felt a million times better and my family even comments on my improvements...so it really does work! I have since finished the program and I would have paid DOUBLE for it, if I knew it would help as much as it did.
I wish you well and if ever you need an understanding friend in anxiety...drop me a line!

Hi lookin,

Welcome, and yes we do know what it feels like. Jeannie gave great advice. I would also add that when you're feeling anxious , the general chat room is a great place to go for some moral support. :D

You can do this!

Welcome lookin2bbetter,
When I read what you wrote, <span class="ev_code_RED">"I live in a small town where people would think I belong in a psych ward"</span> I just had to say, last year when I was really going through a hard time with my anxiety/panic attacks and depression, I felt the same way. My son who is 27 years old, said Mom, there are other people here in the neighborhood going through the same thing, you just don't know it. When I thought about it, I knew he was right. It is something we don't talk about. I'm sure there is others around you going through the same thing, they just don't talk about it, like we don't. You never know, one of your neighbors could be here also getting help.
I got a lot of help from reading the post here, along with the program. I would say, read and read here on line. Always remember we are here for you.

I live in a big city, but I do not think it's any different. You have your family, your circle of friends that you do not tell them that you have this disorder because it would be too embarrassing. I would apply myself to the program, get on the website as much as you can. I am on session 9 now and starting to feel better. It has not been easy and it's a struggle each day, but I will keep on keeping on.....good luck. leopolda
