These are the 100 affirmations from
'Tranquil Sleep Now' from thinkrightnow.com.
I'm sure I can share these with you as they used to have them on their website and they
sent these to me in an email. For those of you who don't know, this is a CD where each affirmation is said 3x each with a different inflection in the woman's voice. Soothing background music with a certain beats per minute for learning, is playing in the background.

I have the ThinkRightNow Cd's for anxiety, organization, and procrastination. I LOVE the two for anxiety and organization, but the first time I listened to the procrastination one I felt uncomfortable (I've procrastinatied listening to it ever since- HA!). I think the main reason I felt anxious is because procrastination has been a life-long trait that I know I need to overcome; additionally, I was procrastinating a MAJOR task and still am...

Anyway, I'm very interested in the sleep affirmations- will look into the CD. I believe the "science" behind it is accurate (have attended educational workshops about brain-based learning and the influence of broque music) and find the woman's voice to be encouraging and calming- also, no subliminals.

Once again, thanks for the great tip Peace1;*)

Hi Fischee!

That's so nice to hear you have some of the cd's too ! Was the Anxiety/Panic CD your complete cure, or did you use it with other things? For me, it never worked as it only had 1 or 2 affirmations for sleeping. I never did ask for a refund because I thought I could use it sometime later in my life, or pass it on to someone else.

I can understand how the procrastination CD made you feel uncomfortable !! I procrastinate too. I think it has to do with perfectionism?
My lifelong battle.. but getting better an inch at a time.. I LOVE the Depression CD but it was the one that made me feel most uncomfortable in the beginning. It challenged all my negative thoughts and for the 1st time I could pinpoint exactly why I was depressed because of the the way I chose to view things that have happened to me. It made me see that I didn't have to look at them that way and as soon as I didn't I became happy. It just demonstrates to me that our thoughts are so POWERFUL. I'm just so glad I have this CD that if I ever need it it can steer me back in the right direction. Sometimes we can get lost..

It's great to hear there is science and research to back up these CD's. I'm sure the workshops you attended were really fascinating!
Was this part of school or something you did on your own ?

It will probably be several days before I receive the CD, but for now I can meditate on these affirmations during the day.

Thanks again to Missletoes for posting and letting me know about this new CD!

Take care, Peace ! :)

Hi, again, Peace1,
No, the eliminating anxiety/panic CD was not my "cure"- I've just used these CDs and the visualization CDs as supplemental material to this (and the Linden) program.

My procrastination is MOST DEFINATELY due to perfectionism. Yes, "My name is Emily, and I am a recovering addict of Perfectionism..." :D/ :( I firmly believe the ridiculously high expectations I have of myself have greatly contributed to my anxiety.

As for conqueoring (sp?) my insomnia, I went a rather unconventional route I would not suggest to anyone (I'll pm you if you're interested). I still have occasional challenges in falling asleep immediately but am taking a variety of different herbs/supplements and have implemented a "bedtime routine"- soon to include the SleepRightNow CD (yes, I ordered it, too!- Thank you soo much for telling everyone about it!).

Well, I'm off to catch some zzz's,
Emily

I haven't really had a chance to fully examine the Linden program, but once I become more acquainted with it I will post a separate forum. I have listened to the introductory material and relaxation CDs, and he is legit- but maybe a little aggressive for those just beginning to address their anxiety/OCD/agoraphobia (no, it really doesn't have anything to do with depression).

Hello Fischee. Sorry for my delayed reply.

Well, I'm sorry to hear the anxiety/panic cd was not the 'cure'.. it wasn't mine either.
Did you listen to it while you slept? I couldn't do it, but I know they say that is the best way to get it in the unconscious. It is a good supplement anyway to CBT. I also tried the Linden program and the One Move Program. The One Move I just could not do it. He suggests trying to make the panic worse at it's peak.
I don't remember the Linden method anymore but I did think his approach was a bit aggressive.
But if his advise works, I wish you all the best and great success with it. Certainly it sounds you have spent a lot of money too..

Well looks like we are two peas in a pod. Was at my chiropractor today and out of the blue he told me my anxiety was because I was a perfectionist. He's pretty smart to have picked that up considering he doesn't know me that well.. well maybe there were some loud clues I wasn't aware of ! ? LOL

An unconvential route you tried for insomnia ? Hmmm.. you have me interested even if it didn't work.. It's good you are taking supplements and herbs as for sure our bodies need it with all the stress we put them under. I take 3 mg melatonin, 5000 mg b12 and 1 Tranquilnite. I take a heaped teaspoon every other day or so of
Natural Calm at about 8pm.

Please let me know how you like the new Tranquil Sleep CD, and we can compare notes
ans such ( :

All the best, Peace 1 ( :
