Could It Be PMS? You Ladies Help Me Decide!
Since Feb. of last year I have been dealing with reoccurring ovarian cysts. This has caused my periods to be completely all over the place. I have had at least two a month since Feb. I have had some that lasted 30 days...some 45...some just 6 days.
Now don't worry, I am seeing a specialist about this. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A MEDICAL OPINION -- JUST A PERSONAL ONE! However, even the doctors don't seem to have a real opinion on the PMS issue. I will admit that I have cried and been more emotional for the last year more than I ever can remember being in the past.
The reason I'm asking is that it would make sense that if you have PMS with your periods, I very well could have had the worst year of PMS in the world.
I would love to believe that once my doc gets everything worked out, I will feel better emotionally than I do now.
I have handled A LOT of growth over the last year, but it would be great to know that I did it while PMS'ing. If so...I will feel so much better after my periods are straightened out. What do you think?
Again I am seeing a doctor, so this is just a personal opinion between us ladies. Thank you so much for your time, really.

I am on my fourth different birth control. we are hoping this one will regulate me and stop the cysts.
I really am just curious as to if I could possibly being having PMS with each of these abnormal period. If so...good for me for getting through an already difficult situation. If not...I don't know.

i love to give my opinion, so here goes!
i totally think hormones affect everyone in different ways. the thing with having tried so many different pills is that they each have a different hormonal makeup and will each affect you differently based on what hormones are being released into your body. on top of that what hormones your body is already producing will be affected. since everyone is different, your moods and periods will be affected differently. however, i believe that pms exists, that each person experiences it differently and each person reacts differently to what they experience. i think that you will eventually find a pill that will help you in they way that you need, hormonally, with your cysts, or with physical symptoms. it sounds like you are really a positive person and are making positive progress! keep it up!

I think that it would be great if I have been having PMS on almost a constant basis. BECAUSE...I have accomplished so much this year. And if I did it while dealing with PMS...than like I said before, good for me.
I have felt like such a crybaby. I have never been a big cryer, but this year, I cry at the drop of a hat. I REALLY do want to tell myself it's PMS, but that just seems to good to be true. It seems easier to believe that I am just getting worse. But I don't want that to be true.

Absolutely to all.
Being a health-minded individual I think our PMS symptoms greatly reflects our over-all health. When my body is clean from making wise food and fitness choices, my PMS decreases significantly and so do my moods.
I've been a vegetarian over 7 years now, and I can say that when my diet is a lot cleaner (more fresh plant foods, less grains/dairy) it's hugely different. This is not just me saying this, you can google raw food diet and pms symptoms and you'll get a ton of info and testimonies about it.
There have been times when I'd eat a predominately raw plant food diet - fruits, veggies, salads, fruit & green smoothies, nuts & seeds and I had very little warning that I was about to start. Other times, I was eating junky veggie food like processed soy meats, grains/breads, cheese and other processed foods and I had nearly debilitating PMS symptoms. Naturally that would effect my overall moods and anxiety symptoms for the better or worse. That's my own science experiment for what it's worth!
What I'm especially looking forward to is defeating menopause symptoms through positive lifestyle changes, when that time comes for me.
I don't know about your present diet but if there's one suggestion I could make for you to look into is to try decreasing your consumption of animal products. I have no doubts that there's a direct correlation between high animal and animal product consumption and female issues. The book The China Study by Colin T Campbell has in depth info on that. Available at most libraries.
Another suggestion is doing regular yoga or Pilates which will strengthen your core area.
All the best to you!

Thanks Shifrah,
I actually have a friend of the same name. My sister changed to a vegetarian, fresh food diet because of all the added hormones and such and she says she is feeling much better.
Oddly enough, I'm tearing up right now just listening to a sad song. I tell you ladies, this has not been easy, but I can't imagine what it will be like when everything is fixed.
Can you imagine having PMS for a year? I couldn't...that's exactly why I posed this question. Thought that was just crazy, but maybe it isn't. It would explain a lot!
