I see on here a lot of people get anxiety symptoms when they are in a uncomfortable place (i.e. work, car, movie, etc). My problem comes when I’m just sitting around doing nothing. When I’m active or on a project I feel great, but not so much when I’m laying around on the weekend with no specific plans.

My doctor told me to get more exercise and possibly this would help. I have started to work out and do feel a lot better.

The feelings I get are so weird though. Pain in the chest, shaking, tunnel vision, and me thinking I’m going to have a heart attack. Do you guys feel this way also? I think it helps to know others are in your same boat and that your symptoms are anxiety not a heart attack!

My anxiety used to work the way yours does. I would be fine when I was occupied, working, exercising, shopping, whatever but as soon as I would stop, the anxiety would start.

Now I am just the opposite. Shopping, working, etc... gives me anxiety. It's so strange how it reversed it itself.

The symptoms you expressed are def. anxiety and you are not having a heart attack. Your mind must be occupied and that is why you do not have anxiety when you are busy. As soon as you have free time, that gives your mind a chance to start thinking about your anxiety.

Keep exercising and occupying your time and you'll do fine.

Yes I can realte. I find when my mind is not occupied my mind races with negative thoughts and I obsess on them.

It really helps me to try to stay busy.
