Has anybody taken this? How did it make you feel? I"m suppose to take it 2x's a day but it just seems like such a high dose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What are you taking it for? I've given it as a nurse, for High BPs, usually IV.

I'm suppose to take it for high bp. I was on atenolol 25 mg but since i'm pregnant they switched it to that and i'm scared to take it. I have bad med phobia. I took the atenolol through both my other pregnancy's so i really just wanted to stay on that. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thank You for replying

What I can tell you is that it has a wonderful effect on BP when used IV. I am a Labor and Delivery nurse and Labetalol is the med of choice for PIH or "Toxemia" pts because it doesn't cause a sudden drop, and sustains longer than other IV meds like Apresoline. We give 20mgs IV push and repeat as necessary per the doctors order. Your dosage sounds reasonable to me because its by mouth, and supposed to sustain you for 12 hrs each dose. I also know that some pregnant women get put on Aldomet by mouth and also sometimes Procardia. I hope some of this helps, and don't ever hesitate to talk to your doctor or nurses in the office. Sometimes Labor and Delivery nurses at your hospital can even help, that's what they are there for.......call them. Be safe, and God bless.
