Ok guys, Ijust started session 3. I went to take a shower and OH MYGOD! my brain is everywhere. I am so overwhelmed with being positive I'm obsessing. Wondering if I will get some sleep tonight. Anyone feel the same?

Session three was and is a hard one for me..I had to take some time on it..I started being more aware of what i was saying and maybe thats what your doing and thats why your mind is running a million miles a minute. Try doing the relax cd..maybe it will help. For the most part its a good thing your thinking positive:)

Hi Terry,

Well I'd say that's a major step towards the right direction at least. Now you just need to be able to control the obsessing and it will happen over the next week likely if I can remember how it was for me. you will soon just be thinking normally positive thoughts. I swear I went through the same thing and it just stopped. By the time you finish session 4 things will start to come together much easier, did for me, hope it will for you too!

Keep forging ahead, it just gets better and better. I promise ;)

Good Luck, Be Good To Yourself!!!

Monty's Mom, How did you get over obsessive thinking? I'm on session 6 right now and can't relate because I don't think I have problems with anger. I'd rather concentrate on my negative thinking.

Thank you Deb and Precillia for helping me out. I look forward to the day where I can think one thought at time and not all. Thank you.

Hi All-

I'm having the same problem. During week 2, I was at my moms, by myself, taking care of her cat. I didn't have to do anything but take care of myself and her cat. No kids, no husband, no bills, etc. It was nice and boring at the same time. I did OK (going there was a little anxious for me, but there wasn't anyone else there or anything that made me panic, so not too much of an issue).

Then, just before I was going to leave, I was supposed to start week 3 (this was 2 weeks ago). I couldn't get my head around it. I understood the points and how to do it, but I couldn't get myself to do it. I was stuck on the same thing - obsessing about how negative I am and all the reasons why and how much it has screwed up my life. I still haven't been able to restart it.

I know that I need to just start and anything is better than nothing. I've decided to aim for writing down at least 5 thoughts I had at the end of the day and changing them (instead of keeping hold of a notebook - which would be all I'd do all day). I think that will get me less anxious about doing the activity.

I would love to hear what others have to say as well. Just worrying about being perfect all the time. Thanks all. -J

Hi Otama,
I really think it's best to do each session even if you don't feel it's as important to you specifically because they all flow together.
Even if it's just once...listen to it.

I won't say I'm over it as I believe it's always capable of reaching back out and grabbing us it's just knowing how to control it now using the skills in this program and other materials I've watched and read.

It will all fall into place, just keep working hard.

God Bless

DEB,
How do you work on self-esteem? I know I need to do it and be more positive but gosh, its hard to start! Have you worked hard at it? have you been able to build it?
