I have been feeling lightheaded/dizzy for a few weeks now -- it seemed to begin with the onset of my last period and I can't seem to shake it. I did go to a PA about it and she told me it was anxiety and gave me yet another drug to try, which I didn't because I don't do meds very well (and I don't believe that is the solution to everything). She also had a full CBC/metabolic panel run and since I never heard anything back I assume everything was as fine as it has been like the numerous other times I had blood drawn this year for other ailments. I am just getting frustrated with this and not sure if I need to go for a second opinion. Has anyone experienced this symptom for a prolonged period? I have noticed that it does come and go -- it mainly goes at night or when I am busy thinking of something else. It even dissipated when I stopped worrying about aneurysms, MS, cerebral hemorrage, and any other frightening thing I could think of and started trying to think positive about things. Then, when I "check in" on myself it is there again. No other symptoms like fainting, blurred vision, balance issues, and so forth accompany it. Although using my eyes, especially on puter aggravates it quite a bit. It's just a nag. I dont' know how to get rid of it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hugs to all! Wiskers ~

P.S. Please note I have had several EKGs run on me this year, an echo, and even a CT scan of my brain a couple of months ago and everything was just fine.

Hi,
It's anxiety brought on by thinking anything negative or worrysome to you. It will stop as you have already noticed if you stop the negative, scary thought process. Just try to focus on all that makes you feel good, happy, and comforted and leave the rest out of the picture. It can be done if you really work on the positive self talk and any distraction that you enjoy and relaxes your mind.

Good Luck!!
BELIEVE YOU CAN CONQUER ANYTHING~ AND YOU WILL !! I DID IT, YES !!!!!

I have the same thing and I have had it for the past 2 years! Just like you, I have no associated symptoms. Mine gets worse when I work on the computer (I have contacts..do you?), when I have alot of pain and tension in my neck and shoulders, and, of course, when my hypochondriasis is in full bloom. I also find it happens in stores or hallways or when I look at certain patterns. It is also related to when I have congestion. There are a million reasons why dizziness occurs and most of the time, there is no real diagnosis that can be made. Try to keep track of when you get it and you probably will find a pattern. When I get really bad, I actually do take some OTC dramamine, but that is very rare. Otherwise, good luck and keep smiling.
