I am doing alot better during the day. I work at a community health center so we stay very busy. Whe I get hoe I have my wonderful children and great husband to keep me focused. After everyone goes to bed is when I feel the worst. I use to keep my husband up till three in the morning, he drives a truck for a living so the next day would worry all day that he might fall asleep at the wheel. Now I let him sleep. I dont want to take any medication that helps with sleep. I listen to the cds over and over. Dont know what else to do
I now all about that! You think if you exert yourself you'l have a heart attack. That thought still lingerings around with me but I'm getting better at confronting it. I love to ski and bought a house near a ski resort town last year. Well I had no desire to ski because I felt a bit off all time and thought what if I have a heart attack. This 'what if thinking' cost me one of the best ski seasons on record. I'm not going to let that happen again.
Confront that one by starting out slowly with any form of light excercise, you will feel better.

Got To Have Faith.
I have been in your situation. I am fine during the day, but when the family goes to sleep, I feel all alone. I feel like I am left to watch over everything. That is anxiety. I feel that I am the only one who can take care of things and, therefore, the only one who needs to worry about it. I listen to relaxtion cds too. I have found that if I meditate and use deep relaxation over sleep, I will fall asleep. The last three nights I have had a hard time sleeping, but have decided to remain calm, not worry about it and tell myself I will sleep when it is time. I have been averaging about 5 hours of sleep the last few nights; much better than before when I was up all night with no sleep.
Have you tried writing in a journal? I do that. I set aside about 15 minutes every day to free write. Anything that comes into my head goes into the journal. It helps to get it on paper and out of your head.
I hope this helps and know you are not alone in this.
