Hello everyone. Long time no speak. When I first started the program, most of my symptoms were panic/anxiety. Now that I have overcome those issues, thanks to the program, I have unfortunately still been suffering with extreme low mental energy, stress/exercise intolerance and brain fog/spaciness (forgetting words, losing train of thought, etc). It's really frustrating not knowing exactly what's wrong with you, but I decided before I go to see any more doctors, that I need to try an anti-depressant to see if this is my problem...

Has anyone taken, and LOVED an anti-depressant with similar symptoms as mine? I don't want a pill that's going to make me more exhausted. I don't have an anxiety issue. I want a happy/clear-minded pill that will work wonders, and give me mental energy and alertness. Then, I'll feel more confident doing the program again.

Have you ever been tested for Fibromyalgia? What you mentioned are definite symptoms of FMS. Check out the web www.Fibromyalgia.com and talk to your doctor about it. Do you ache all over as well? You may not even need an anti-depressent and since you are med free right now, it would be a good time to find out. Just a thought from one who has it. Good luck and God Bless...

I was thinking Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The problem is not all doctors buy into them. I briefly researched them for myself, and in my research both were benefited by taking anti-depressants. My cousin's main complaint was depression and she's having a very good experience on a low dose of Zoloft. I briefly took Lexapro, but I personally wouldn't recommend it for depression with fatigue (causes fatigue and is better for anxiety/ocd). Good luck.

hey,
when i finished the program for the first time and had my panic attacks under control i did notice that i had a very spacey feeling that was pretty much on for like 2 months or so. it was a low level anxiety thing that didn't develop into panic attacks because i knew how to stop them after the program.
i have to say that living through that feeling was the hardest part of my anxiety. i felt kind of 'high' all the time. keep working through the program again and take fish oil or 5htp which both are mood stabilizers but all natural and make sure you exercise and you will rid your brain of this fog. i dont think you need to go straight to medication you just need to wait this out and exercise and keep journaling and the fog will lift. if not then go see your doctor but this sounds similar to what i had.

Shiksa,
Unfortunately the symptoms you are describing are frequently the ones you get from being 'on' medication.
Please try everything else you can, diet, exercise, CBT before you go on meds. If you can possibly find a way to get a handle on this without going on meds, it would be better.
Let us know what you find out.
God Bless and peace be with you.

thanks so much everyone for your help!

My problem is that I've been having these symptoms for years, and I just don't know what to do anymore. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but there is no cure for it. All it involves is a vitamin regimen, which I tried.

I'm very torn on taking the anti-depressants. On one hand I avoided it because I wanted to try the high-b-vitamin/5htp route, but it didn't help. I feel as though I'm giving up, but I want to make sure I take the right anti-depressant. My doctor gave me a prescription for lexapro, but I'm just not sure if it's going to give me the mental energy I long for.
