ok i started celexa 20mg on Sunday. So ive taken it twice. This is the first SSRI ive ever tried. My doc told me that I would feel "weird" the first 7-10 days but she couldnt describe what that weird would be. But in the morning I wake up shaky?? And I feel like I am a little bit more nervous. Very weird feeling like I feel kinda out of it...numb?? I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks for ur input.

Alysa_Mae,

I've never taken Celexa, but I have taken Zoloft, Paxil and Effexor XR at one point or another. As far as I can tell you, how you're feeling is exactly how I felt when I started each one.

The Zoloft and Paxil made me feel dizzy, nauseous, that "out of it" depersonalization feeling, and "numb inside" (if you know what I mean).
The Effexor made me feel nauseous, shaky, extremely nervous, turned me into a total insomniac and I lost my desire to eat.

Wait a few weeks and see if the side effects subside. If not, you can always try something else. Just make sure you let your doctor know if the side effects are really troublesome for you.

xoxo

Alysa,

I actually just received a prescription for celexa 20mg, but I am still debating whether I should start it or finish the program. My doc told me to expect the same thing, but I just don't want to become dependent on meds.
