this is my second posting. i worry my head off and my psychiatrist told me one is only OCD if they do things like check locks 20 times or open the oven over and over but sometimes i think i have a touch of OCD because my general quality of life is ruined by my obsessive thoughts of the most meaningless things that what i would call a normal person would not think of. the reason i brought this up to my doc is so maybe he could give me medication for this.does anybody have any feedback
Hey Maria. I don't know what set's u s off to worry when we never used to...but I think getting yourself really involved in something will take your mind off alot! And stop obcessing! Our minds follow what we think! You're ok! Just have to pull yourself out of the habit! Been there. Done that. Thank you for your post & encouraging words! I wish you the best!
I think that anxiety and OCD are all the same. We obsess, that's why we have the anxiety. I was told that I have OCD about 8 years ago. I do not check things, but I do have a difficult time letting things go. It really does get better. Use the tools in the program and you will see how much it helps. In saying that, you will also have set-backs from time-to-time. Everyone does! It's normal!
I just started the program...and i am also not sure if i have OCD or anxiety. Maybe both! I cant sleep at nite, because my mind will not shut down. I seem to replay my whole day..or past few days over and over in my mind. Think about things that dont really mean anything. Its soooooooo aggravating. I also have the obsessive scary thoughts. Especially of something horrible happening to my children.
I have the same problem with not sleeping since I had my separation 2 1/2 years ago. I wake up every 2 hours and have to eat something small, I have Night eating syndrome! I also have racing thoughts and bad thoughts that cannot shut off. For me with Night eating syndrome not even a sleeping medication will allow me to sleep through the night. How are you dealing with your sleeping? Do you take sleep medication and have you heard of anyone else taht may have NEsyndrome? I wish you and me both well with this program! Keep in touch.
