Hi everyone I know that this is rare but, I was wondering if anyone had ever passed out because of extreme anxiety?

yep. i've been known to faint once or twice. more often than that, i've prevented it with my skills!

i like this resource, because it gives a medical explanation in a simple way.

this one's not as clear, but if you were turned off by the teen format. . .

When I try to recall my worst panic attack it brings back too many memories that are not good. I like living in today, its a lot more fun. I don't want to relive the bad times. I try to remember the happiest , most exciting moments of my life.

regarding panic attacks, I recently in the past few years come to know what they were. I had them since I was probably in the 5th grade. I always wanted to be around other people out of fear when this was going on. In the past year I have learned to deal with them more, due to professional help and reading on the matter. I also found, I did not die, or pass out, for after surviving the attact, I was still there, so---timing them, got to be a thing, they would last basically around 20 minutes, then maybe heart palpitations for an hour or so, then sick feeling, then finally relax and then I knew It did not do me in. Even though I was tired afterward. So far I am still trying to tract what brought them on. I hope to learn much more through the program since just geeting into it.

Dewy,
When I started this program, I said "I don't have panic attacks", then I realized I had them mostly as fits of anger. I was recently put to the test when I had to go to NYC and had to put up with everything that it takes to get around NYC. I found my heart pounding in cabs. My most recent major breakthrough was went I had my credit card rejected at the grocery store (it shouldn't have been) I calmly handed the cashier another credit card which went through. That was a big thing for me not to throw a tantrum. Sounds pretty silly, doesn't it. I find stopping caffeine and doing the relaxation tapes helps a lot. The most peace I have felt in a long happened last week. I went to a homeless shelter and food pantry and asked them what food they needed. I went to the grocery store and picked out items that were on their list. I felt great and I was consumed in my task. Try it some time, it gave me a lot of peace. Now when I recognize feelings of anxiety I start to do the breathing from the relaxation tape. When I think of this, sometimes I feel myself getting anxious and I don't know why, I try to figure out what is bothering me. I think stopping coffee has helped minimize that. You are going to do great and this program will help you. It has really helped me a lot.

I came to realize that often my panic resulted in a show of anger. I found myself getting a racing heart in a cab in NYC. So now I recognize the symptoms. I had a major breakthrough , a cashier rejected my credit card, I handed her another one that went through. I didn't get angry, or upset. I went about my day, and it was a non event. The most peace I felt was when I went to a homeless shelter and get a shopping list from them and brought them some food, it felt great. I find since I stopped coffee my heart doesn't race very often any more. Use the relaxation tapes and do the homework, you will do great.

I have passed out from anxiety a few times the first time was the asme year the panic attacks started. I was in the 7th grade and that was a very tramatic year for me so many things happened to me that year everyday was bad. I was at church I was singing in the youth choir, I had so many things going on in my mind. thoughts kept rushing and all of the sudden I started falling my mom came and grabed me and took me to get fresh air. Heart disease runs in my mothers family she had a heart attack at 20 so it was just assumed that somthing heart related was going on. It wasn't though. I also got really sick about 3 years ago to the point that I could not walk. I had to have someone hold me up and help me walk I had to quit work which I loved and I still have some of the symptoms from then like not being able to stand for too long haveing to hold on to something when I go out. when I walk too fast I black out and get big head aches. but theres a couple of my experiences
