I am tired ALL the time. It does not matter if I get 8, 10, 12 hours sleep seems like I could stay in bed all day if possible. Give me 10 minutes sitting on the couch and I fall asleep. It really affects my day and life. This has been going on for the past 3 or 4 years. Most days I have to drag myself out of bed every morning. Does anyone else have or had this same problem? How did/do you deal with it?

Hi Plusorminus 5. I have indeed had that problem years ago. I slept sixteen hours a day . Tired all the time. I was sent to a sleep disorder clinic, and had no sleep disorder, thank God, then I had all my bloodwork done to rule out anything wrong there as well. I was in a major depression at the time, and after ruling out all other issues, the doctors realized it was the depression, and anxiety making me tired. Stress and anxiety can make you so tired you just want to sleep, and of course so can depression, meds etc..... You should see your doctor and tell him/her exactly what you have said on this post. You need relief, and knowing just how you feel, I certainly sympathize. The thing is too, when anxious or/and depressed, the more we sleep, the worse we feel, and so we sleep again, feel worse, and the vicious cycle begins. Having said this, I'm also going through perimenopause and on iron pills for anemia as well, so I'm tired more than usual lately, but it's not like it use to be. My therapist said a nap of about one hour and a half,(the half hour to get to sleep)is fine and quite good for you, refreshing too, but not more than that. Let me know how it goes for you, and please see your doctor OK? Try to do as much of the program as you can daily, even a little at a time for now, but keep with it.Maybe a short walk will help as well. Take care!

Hugs
Beth :)

I can COMPLETELY relate- I'm absolutely exhaused around 3:00 pm. I usually get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep but still crave more. my entire life I've needed a lot of sleep, so I don't think it's depression (though I did go through a bout of it a couple years back). For a long time sleep was a means of escape for me.

But within the last year, I don't feel depressed- just anxious and overwhelmed. I agree with what girlwisdom said, anxiety exhausts you.

I don't really have any advice; in fact, I'm equally eager to hear if anyone else has solutions. Obviously, most of us stay away from caffine, but does anyone know of alternative supplements/therapies. I have heard that some kinds of aromatherapy are helpful...

Oh, I've also been tested for thyroid, anemia, and something else (?)- all tests were -.

Hi,i cant say i relate totatly but somewhat.i too have a problem with being tired all the time.Ive been feeling this way for a long time now.I get enough sleep usually, but wake up still tired like i hadnt been asleep at all.I also could go run errands, come back not be a little tired but exhausted. But the good news is i can get up go about my day,and take care of myon 5 year old son as best i can.Plus i did finally after putting it off i went to my doctor and asked him to do a blood test on me to see if my problem was medically related and it wasnt. My test came back normal except he gave me a little bit of bad news,I now have high chloestrol but its not too high. The doctor said i should start going for daily walks, cut down on breaded and fried foods. I also need to cut down on stress too ,but easier said than done right? email back if you want, bye now.
