Prozac and Xanax {generic}
Hi Shelly - I have been taking Alprazolam(the generic for Xanax)for years now with absolutely no side effects. I take the same .25mg that you have. That is a pretty low dose so you should just feel a little more relaxed after taking it but not sleepy. I have never taken Prozac, but have friends who do and they did not have any problems with it. Of course everyone is different. Good luck and I hope this helped a little bit.

I have taken neither of these drugs, but started taking the free 30 day supply of "Good Days", the dietary supplement Lucinda developed. I have taken them for 17 days, beginning when I started the program. It's hard to say exactly how they have helped, but I don't seem to have what my husband calls "the eeeks" very much. Is anyone else taking this supplement, and has it helped you?

The doctor prescribed me the same medicine exactly. I have been on it for about 5 weeks and feel little relief... but am hanging in there with that and the program. Good Luck

Shelly and Dawn, I have taken Prozac and xanax for 20yrs. When I was originally diagnost with panick disorder, I was like you, very sceptical and afraid of meds.At that time in my life I was having 5-8 panick attacks a day, I could barely leave my house. I thought I should be able to overcome this without med. once I finally gave in and took my prozac every day, I started to get my life back. It takes3-4 weeks for enough med. to build up in your system to even start to work, but once it did, my panick attacks stopped instantly. The xanax is a crutch to use when your anxiety level is to high. I'm on a very low dose of xanax and I have used it sparingly, but if you use it when you start to feel overly anxious it kicks in, in about 20 min. and calms you down.start with a low dose and slowly work your way up until you find the right dose for you But allways stay in touch with your doctor if your dosage isn't working for you. After 3yrs. of going undiagnost my prozac gave me my life back! I still have issues with constant worry and anxiety and thats why I ordered Lucinda program. I'm hoping to one day never need meds. again, but for now prozac and xanax keep me functioning and no panick attacks. After 20 yrs. of using these drugs [carefully] I have had no long term side effects. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. I'd be glad to share my experiences with you. ms3.
thanks for your responce ms3... i am on my end of my 3rd week of takeing Prozac and i am feel so much better. I am still scared of going out of the house though. but no more panic attacks or anxiety at all. Even if i feel like i suppose to be so stressed out over something i dont feel stressed. I'm taken it day by day but each day i know im getting better. Its so great. But now i just need to work on is going out... and of course get more into the program..hehehe
shelly, I just started my program yesterday, I think it,s gonna be really good for me. I've been dealing with this disorder for so long.I just found out I will have to go to court in a couple of weeks, and stand in front of a judge, EX-husband issues,but anyway this one of my big fears, I am terrified,but if I don,t do it he will keep taking advantage of me.As far as going out, do you have trouble just going outside? or away from your property?
