NO COFFEE in the morning!?what to do!? funny considering i have IBS!

I just started the program but I have a battle to overcome with my coffee addiction in the morning! I cannot think clearly without having my coffee in the morning, I used to be dead to the world before i started drinking coffee every morning. Now the program wants me to stop drinking that along with the sodas and sugars they produce which is fine with me, I can except that but the coffee thing is sooooo hard! I dont know if its because im depressed and the coffee makes me happier with better thoughts and feelings!? What can i replace coffee with to get me going in the morning?! Any thoughts would be very much obliged!

Try to wean yourself off the coffee. If you drink more than ond a day, cut it down to just one a day for a week. Then the next week, just drink one cup every other day, etc.

Another thing, you got to stop the sugar. I don't know if you like sugar substitutes (some people think they're not good for you)but I started using equal because it tastes like sugar and it helped m to get away from sugar.

My anxiety got SO much better when I got all of that stuff out of my body. You will be amazed! Try it. It is not easy in the beginning, but it's worth it.

Instead of cutting it out all together you can even do 1/2 and 1/2 one half decaf the other half your regualar coffee. That is what I did and it helped alot sometimes I even have a half and half still when I really want a flavoured coffee when I am out and they don't carry decaf.
I still do use regualar sugar in my coffee b/c I only use 1/2 tsp it doesn't really effect me b/c it isn't that much sugar.
Hope that helps it might make it easier to switch to decaf.

Thanks alot I will try to switch to decaf and see what kind of effect it gives me, because i only drink one cup every morning, its not that bad but Lucinda said to stop with all caffeine and sugar! Its going to be tough but I will consider doing it if it is going to change my life around!

Hi Blavoie.

Decaf is the same as cutting all the caffiene. It is just coffee without the caffeine. You won't get the effect that you want from coffee but you will get the flavor. So if you need the wake-up feeling - you won't get that, but you'll still get the flavor.

If you want to feel better faster you'll eventually have to cut out the coffee and sugar.

I need something that is going to wake me up! Maybe a banana or an apple?! haha, all I know is that I need something to wake me up in the morning because I am miserable!
