ladies. . .
Does anyone get very hormonal 2 weeks before their cycle? I am seeing myself get more anxious, depressed, restless, easily irritated/mad, crying etc. . . i hardly dry too!! I got off BC pills a month ago so maybe this could be it? ? I dont know. . I got off them because i wanted to stop anything that can make your depression/anxiety worse. . . i dont think it did make me worse. . now i feel like i should go back on them. . . but they're so unnatural and not good for you anyway.doea anyone know of any natural supplement i can use for this? Someone mentioned 5htp. . i dont want to get pmdd. . this is what i thought i had last yr.. . i may have or may not have. . i started taking bc pills for that reason and i dunno if they helped or if i was just getting better. . any advice?

Yes! I am totally hormonal 1-2 weeks before my period--it's a given for me. I don't think as clearly, I always cry and I'm very moody. Talk to me the week after and generally life is pretty swell.
I think you're normal.
There have been a couple of times in my life where i've taken medication and it messed with my emotional state. One of them made me cry CONSTANTLY and I didn't even realize what was going on until my friend said something. Obviously not all drugs do this. My body is just sensitive and reacts easily. Take note of what affects your body in those ways and talk to your doctor, letting him know what other drugs you've tried and their affects. They will always be the best help and most knowledgable.

Yup, I felt misearable 2 weeks before my period. i was achy, headaches, anxiety, moody, irritable, sore boobs, had it all! I couldnt take it anymore and saw my doc. he said I had PMDD, could be treated two ways with birth control or AD. I have hormonal issues and BC makes them worse so I opted for the AD Lexapro and it has worked wonders, the past two months I have had a huge decrease in symptoms, I now have only 2 days of very mild normal pms, it has been a great relief and I feel great.
Talk to your doc and see what your options are. I tried herbal stuff before the AD and it didnt really work at all. I took a mulitvitamin, fish oil, primrose oil, nothing eased the PMS because it was hormonal. I was told that most people with PMDD have too much estrogen not enough progesterone and it greatly decreases your serotonin, thats why the AD help with the PMDD.
