I just order the tapes yesterday after watching an infomercial and ordering for the first time in my life. I just started watching TV again after 25 years. I don't get "attacks" as much as chronic having to rush when I have nowhere to go. A constant having to be doing something. Can't relax well. I'm on Wellbutrin and it's caused severe insomnia. Can someone explain what they mean by attacks?

swish...you'll find that attacks take on many different forms for different people on here. Attacks usually manifest themselves in physical discomfort/fear...chest pains, cold sweats, numbness, headaches, etc. I can relate to what you write in that you can't relax. This is a form of anxiety. I call these feelings restlessness. Like you can't sit still and need to be going 100 miles an hour. For me, my own negative self thoughts are what drives my anxiety. I can't seem to keep my mind quiet. It's usually health related messages that turn to doom. Interrupted sleep is one of my triggers as well.

I beleive the tapes are about taking charge of your life and learning positive thinking. So I think you might ask yourself a couple questions concerning your need to stay busy all the time. If you are a have to be doing something all the time kind of person I beleive it is okay as long as you physcially and mentally keeping up with its demands. If you can and you feel okay with wanting to stay busy and you do not suffer physically/mentally than I think your okay and maybe that is just how you are wired. But if you are suffering not true panic attacks but other systoms that are related to stress then I would evaluate if you are staying busy because of some underlying issues, etc. I don't know if I was of any help, I think either way listening to her tapes can help anyone learn about themselves and help improve on who we are.
Good luck (grays anatomy is a great show thursday nights) lol

I also have negative self thoughts that are hard to stop. They're usually comparing my social life which is pretty nil, to my boyfriend's - caring friends out the wazoo. I feel lonelier than when I was alone. I have his life in paradise to compare to my life in hell. Gives me more anxiety to know what I missed out on, and I think I will never have my own friends who really care for me when I need them. My fear is will I have enough money, every since I was very young. I'm pretty confident about my physical health most of the time. It's the financial health that I worry about and yet I have plenty of money. Does this jive with you or anyone else out there?

Debbie..it's not so much that I have a need to stay busy, but always think of something that I either forgot to do (as if it's the end of the world) or need to do, and that it catapults me into action. I sit for a moment, and whoops! I have the laundry in the washing machine. I want to relax and need to, but my persistent thoughts won't let me. Fortunately, I am a very active and healthy person that can take this kind of physical rigor...for now.

Thanks to both you and Joe P. for responding!

do your best to go through the program carefully. you will learn to appreciate your life and blessings more. you will compare yourself to others less (everyone has their own trials).

it's great that you ordered the program. it's going to help with the less healthy thinking pattern you've got going--and life in general will really improve.

swish...I'm glad to hear that you're ok most of the time. I think we call can relate to the financial worries. Perhaps the program can help you with the comparison thoughts that you get. Just remember that the negative self talk can really creep up on you. I'll be fine one minute and then not the next. It's weird. I suppose we all have our struggles on different levels. The good thing is we're in this together...
