Venting and asken for help
Shelly,
Take a deep breathe....I know it is a lot to handle. I too had a panic attack about two years ago didn't have one again for about 8 months and then began to worry about everything under the sun. If you had gone through alot and never talked about it then it could have stressed your body to make it where you one day broke down for say and your body in a fight reaction had a panic attack. They are scary and when most people have them they think they are dieing and then start being afraid to leave their homes or do things that they would normally do because they are afraid that they will have another attack. The program will help you with everything that you have stated in your post, it explains each thing that you are going through. I don't know what you believe but I pray when I start to leave the house and it really helps me. I pray for a sound mind and for the Lord to be with me through all my tribulations and to take away any and all of my fears. If you don't believe in the Lord then do positive self talk. I believe I have read a post from you that said that you did pray so continue to pray and ask the Lord to help you. If I am wrong about this please forgive me. You can bring yourself through the program, don't be afriad of it just turn on the cd or tapes and start listening. The first dvd helped me so much that I felt like a new person. It was wonderful. Some it won't work so fast for but I knew what to do and I use it whenever I start feeling anxious. I have gotten a job since and I have gone across bridges, I have gone to people's houses that I hadn't wanted to drive to but I did. I have gone to school events that I would have never gone to and I have gone shopping more than ever. It use to be hard for me to drive a mile down the road and my little baby steps turned into HUGE steps. It is truly a miracle! Thank God! (My personal belief) Anyways, I hope that this will help you, we have all gone through it and know how you feel so KNOW that you can over come this just as many others have. Tell yourself that you can overcome this and you will be able to move little by little farther to recovery. Don't think that you need to take a HUGE step because it takes small things to build yourself back up to where you once were.
Blessings~

Shelly,
The best thing about this program is that you realize that you are not alone. There are so many people dealing with the same thing.
I used to work full time, volunteer, manage the family, get the kids here and there. I was always going 90 to nothing. I've been through some rough times and always come through.
Out of nowhere, this awful anxiety hit last year. I've dealt with depression for about 8 years. The anxiety makes me question everything from my religious faith to my marriage to my ability to parent or ever go back to work. It's taken a huge toll on my self esteem and self confidence. I'm not even sure if I can drive to town in two days to pick up my son for the weekend or if I'll have to get my husband to get him on his way home. I just don't feel like I can rely on myself and that I'm controlled by fear.
The tapes have brought me a long way and I'm working through them again. Jst wanted you t kno that you aren't alone out there.

Stop being so hard on yourself. I know how hard this is all to take in, I was there only 4 moths ago. I can totally relate worrying about everything, especially dying and cancer and diseases and all. This is when you must reason with yourself and say, I know what this is! It's my anxiety and that's all. Talk to yourself in a positive loving way like you would to your child. Everyone's case is different and there have been people worse than you that the program worked for including Lucinda. Give yourself some credit for just understanding what you have and that you're making the decision to stop the anxiety. You really need to learn to relax and the program can teach you how. It's so very important to learn this skill. Are these thoughts are called racing thoughts. One thing will pop into your head and then it just leads to another and another and another. These are also obssessive scary thoughts, (scary meaning anything that makes you feel bad, sad, scared, whatver) and a lot of times a person will obssess about one thing to get their brain off another (like your anxiety) but they don't even realize their doing it. This is why the program is soo effective. It teaches you how to deal with things and move on. It teaches you how to make decisions and feel good about them. And so much more. I believe you can do the program. If you're serious about getting rid of this, just do it. You have got to make the commitment for your own sake. That's what I said to myself 4 months ago, and I am sooo much better now. Do I still have thoughts and some anxiety? Sure, it's going to take some time and practice for all these things to become second nature. Will I be able to handle it? You bet. And it's because of the skills I've learned through the program. I think you can do it! Just love yourself enough to take that big step and just get the program. We're here for you- S>P>
