i have never kept a journal. can someone tell me what all i need to put in it. on one of the cd's, lucinda said something about knowing how you felt when you ate.(or something to that effect) so does that mean i journal what i ate, when i ate it and how i felt? what else do some of you put in yours? how do you manage it at work? my boss is lienant(sp?) so i dont think she will mind as long as i get my work done.
thanks everyone for your input, guidance and paitence. i know i have asked a lot, but i want this to work. no, i need this to work.
sincerely,
kim
journal????
i am not a fan of journals, but,i write about any anxious, sad, angry, ect. things and how i felt when they happened to me and how i delt with the symptoms of it. if i felt good that day i wrote about what positive things or thoughts that brought it on. so i would have to say when you sit down to do the jornal be prepare to rehash your day and when your done it feels pretty good to purge it all. good luck. you'll change it around to suit you . jo
I write a lot and about everything...I might write about my day good or bad...my relationships..my program...my illness, issues, thankfulness, prayers, ect...really anything. I may write once a day or two, perhaps more.
My point is writing helps me remind myself what I am thankful for, where I am going in life or not...even what I need to work on. My writing is never forced and sometimes I may not write for a few days. When I am down I write three things I am thankful for that day....this reminds me I always have reason to continue on.
I also can not force myself to write.
Maybe you could start by writing what you want to get out of writing in a journal. What you want to happen when you write. Is this a disire you have?
Anything that makes us evaluate our lives and loves or dislikes honestly is worth a try. Good Luck keep us posted.

I like to write only at my convience and only for me. My writing are personel deep thoughts and "love letters" I write to myself, for myself.I tried to write every day ,about every emotion and the process developed into another chore.
I am contemplating tearing out the pages as I go, to represent living my life in the present and releasing myself from the past .
What do you guys think?

Oddly enough if you take a look at my profile I stress that I like to write yet when I started this program I haven't wanted to write in a journal... It's as if I am so invloved in trying to better myself and dedicated to the program (excluding the journaling) that I don't even want to bring up the bad memories of the day... Weird... Well from somebody who LOVES writing I just want to tell you to write whatever comes to your mind... let your mind do the writing... if it makes you feel better to write all the wrong things you did through out your day then write that... but make sure you realize what you're writing... you can go back to see all the wrongs you did and make them right... If it feels better to write all the right things you did through out your day you can take that and use it as motivation to keep doing what your doing and to realize you are changing and for the better... Your journaling is for your own self improvement it;s how you express yourself to nobody but yourself... just keep practicing and you'll probably not want to stop writing at night... Just let out whatever you feel comfortable letting out... My opinion/advice... Good luck sweetie...
