I don't have hypoglycemia but I have read that when you are really stressed out & anxious it is common to have low blood sugar. This is very true of me - I've noticed it for years.

Lately I have been under acute anxiety and I am having these "spells" quite often. I feel very weak, shaky, fearful etc. I'm trying to eat a little bit every couple of hours. I have just started paxil (again) and I'm not sure if Paxil is causing this or if it is just my usual anxiety.

I just wondered if anyone else has these "spells" with their anxiety.

When I'm anxious, my blood sugar is always out of whack. Also, I watched a show last night that said that if you don't get enough sleep, that also messes with your blood sugar. Eat something with some protein every few hours. That helps me.

My very first panic attack started with my sugar level. I now won't eat anything with sugar including orange juice in the morning. I know that it effects me in lots of ways. Make sure that you eat thigns with no sugar you need a balance of something in your stomach before you eat sugars so that it doesn't bother you in such ways. I read the book the south beach diet and it helped me in the areas of my sugar levels. i thought at one time I had diabeties because of how it effected me. I got blood work done and nothing like that was present. Hope that this helps! Bless you!

Thank you so much for your replies. My anxiety has been through the roof lately not to mention my appetite is not normal. I've had a lot of these "spells" and I don't like them at all! I'm keeping track though and will tell my dr. if they don't get better....
