I started the day today with a MAJOR panic attack. I won't go into why, but it was awful. I was sure I was going crazy and was going to have to leave work and explain to my husband. . .on and on. . . just telling myself scary things and lies.

Well, I FORCED myself to stay here and kept getting out my list of positive thoughts and turned on my music to distract myself while I worked. I touched base with a couple of safe people here at work.

And here it is 5pm and I'm so PROUD of myself for making it though.

I certainly wouldn't want to go through this every day, but I proved to myself that no matter how bad I feel, I can get through the day. Next time I have a horrible panic attack I will be able to remind myself that this was one of the worst ones ever and I made it, so I can make it next time (I'd rather think there never will be any more, but that's probably not realistic at this point!)

I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. :) And I even got some work done ;)

Thanks. . .I am done with Xanax. I was only taking it at night and then tried one during the day and it made me feel really 'wasted' so I can do it.

I'm hoping that changes and diet and exercise and more water will help. We'll see!

Chris, I am happy to hear of your success today!I overcame an anxious event last night and yes, I agree there is great joy in knowing you can do it... it only gets better from here. I think there may be some setbacks, but they will only be minor if you continue to remember all skills you are learning! Remember the safe place in only within YOU! I hope you have a great day tomorrow too! Be sure to check in and let us know!
