Hi there,
I have seen many Doc's and psychiatrists and they tell me I have GAD and depression. Does anyone out there have these symptoms? I was a sucessful 24 year old male. Now, the physical symptoms are so bad I had to drop out of college and move back with my parents. I feel so sick all the time I can't do anything.

• Gut Pain Daily, gets worse immediately after eating food (this has been on/off for about 8 years)
• Feel like I have the flue, weak, disoriented,
• Bad stomach cramps and abdominal bloating everyday.
• Decreased appetite, mostly because eating upsets my stomach
• Frequent lower left abdominal pain, at times it’s so bad it hurts in the testicals
• Chronic burning chest pain daily (seems to be worse in the evening)
• Chronic burning esophagus and throat
• Chronic burning mouth/bad breath
• Ears Ache Daily. Hurts very bad at times (more so in the evening), predominately in the right ear
• Pressure in ears and itch deep inside
• Head Aches – More less goes hand in hand with the evening eye pain
• Always nauseous, especially when waking in the morning
• Coated tongue- Furry whitish color (not normal, was never this way before)
• Chronic terrible taste in mouth, ALL THE TIME! Comes back within minuets after brushing teeth (makes me feel nauseous)
• Very Irritable
• Feels like I’m shaking/shivering all the time on the inside.
• Chronic upper body tension -Extreme muscle tension all over, especially arms, shoulders, and neck – IT NEVER STOPS!
• Nervousness/Jittery constantly. Never gets worse or better
• Muscles feel weak
• Fatigued all the time
• Heart “pounds hard” and beats erratic after exerting myself. Even just running up stairs.
• Irregular resting heart beat now and then
• Diarrhea and Constipation - varies (rarely do I have a normal bowl movement)
• Colds every 2 months (for the last couple years)
• Insomnia (very bad, tried sleeping pills, but didn’t help)
• Concentration poor/Brain fog
• Feel spacey or detached from reality/gapped out
• Poor memory
• More frequent Urination, but not much comes out
• Numb Penis (no feeling, not impotent though)
• Muscle twitching (all over body & a lot in right quadricep lately)
• Eye pain - back of eye’s hurt, and hurts to move them all the way to one side (mostly in the evening. Advil helps)
• Burning eyes (mostly in the evening), Burning, burning, burning
• Very dizzy/light headed when getting up from sitting
• Large numb area on right leg (no feeling) (noticed this about three years ago) recently creeping down onto calf area
• Bad body odour and dandruff( I never had a problem with either before)
• Frequent small belches throughout the day and more than usual gas
• Allergic reactions to stuff that never bothered me in the past
• Jock itch
• Loosing weight 25 lbs in 6 weeks – mostly due to stomach pain and food irritation

I was wondering if you have been tested for food allergies? Also have you seen an gastroenterologist?

HOPE YOU BEGIN TO FEEL BETTER SOON!!!

that guy,

Definitely find out a way to get thoroughly tested for food allergies. I didn't have nearly as much symptoms as you and found out I was severely allergic to dairy and a slight sensitivity to gluten. (most people will at some point in their life). I eliminated it and feel awesome. You will be able to throw some back in your diet at a later time. Also, women talk about this all the time, but the coating on the tongue thing and other stuff you mentioned remind me of candida overgrowth. Now, I am not a doctor, just throwing some stuff out there, but you should look for a doctor who is somewhat alternative to an extent b/c most regular docs don't understand or look at these things. Lastly, could you possibly have Lyme's disease? That's not to scare you, it can be treated, it's just that you have a lot of different types of symptoms that are hard to put together. I thought I had Lyme's last winter and after several blood tests, they said I didn't. Check these things out, good luck, and if it all comes back to just anxiety, you'll get past all that too.

A lot of your symptoms sound like a hernia pressing in to the bowel. I would definitely see a good colon dr. I just went in due to extreme pain in lower left pelvis. Never am regular. Gas, pain, nauseau, upset stomach, fever then chills. It took 7 months and 3 doctors before I went back to the gyno after seeing a gastro guy and was told the stool is caught in a pocket in the wall of the colon which happens if you have problems such as you've described. Had a check Monday w/the endoscopy dr and sure enough this is why I have had all the horrible pain. As far as your anxiety this probably has been exaserbated by not being able to evacuate. I will have to have surgery for the hernia (which is just fancy for a pocket bulge in the lower pelvis) which is out patient. Don't and I mean don't put this off. You will not get any relief until you are w/a doctor who knows what he/she's familiar seeing. Good luck.

I read your list of symptoms and wanted to know if you have had a complete physical and had a 2nd opinion by another doctor? I know when I was feeling my worst, I wasn't getting any help from my doctor, so I read everything I could about Natural remedies and health books. There are some very good natural detoxification products at the health food store (GNC) etc. That might be a good place to start. Do you take a multivitamin or other suppliments? Do you drink lots of purified water and eat nutritious foods, fruits and vegtables? Have you considered going to a reputable holistic health practioner or nutritionist? My sister went to one and he really helped her by changing her diet and adding some healthy supplements.I truly hope you do some of these things to help yourself feel better. You deserve to wake up feeling healthy and strong. (and you will, if you are persistant). Doctors are wonderful, but they study symptoms of disease. A health specialist, nutritionist studies health and symptoms caused by missing nutrients, minerals and vitamins lacking in the body. Please do a little research on the website about natural products and detox. However, with your symptoms so severe, please get a good licensed "Health" (holistic) practioner or nutritionist to help you get started on the path to wellness. Good luck to you in your quest for a healthy lifestyle and keep us posted on how you are doing!

Thanks guys for all the suggestions,
All the docs I have seen did basic blood tests for thyroid etc... They all checked out ok, so the say it must be psychological. I have been on five different antidepressants over a two year period and haven't been on any for the last 4 months. None of the pills helped with the symptoms and I had alot of side effects from them. I feel better when not taking them. I asked my doc to see a gastroenterologist, but he said I should go back to see a psychiatrist. I don't agree. I think an endoscopy would be worth a look. I did do a food allergy test and candida test with a company called Immuno Labratories and they were negative. They only test 115 food types which isn't that many really, any many say there is no accurate blood test for candida. I dunno, just frustrated!

A friend of mine just gave the number to a nutritionist. I will give it a try, it's worth a shot.

That Guy,

I like you feel completely lost. I just turned 26 and like you, I had to quit college and my job due to anxiety and panic attacks. One good thing that just happened is, I married the love of my life in August. I just wanted to let you know that if it is anxiety I am here to tell you that everything is going to be ok. If you don't have the program yet, maybe you should look into it. You can do it for 30 days for only 14.95. It does help little by little. Also, I think you need to find a different doctor. If he/she doesn't take you seriously then why pay them an arm and a leg. My doctor basically did to me what yours did and sent my to a psychologist. Yes, I needed someone to talk to but I also needed to know what was wrong with me and not just "You have anxiety and panic disorder." DUH I wanted to know how to fix it, not just give me pills and expect me to figure it out. No matter what you find out, you will be ok. Humans are resilant and can fight for a long time. We will get thru this no matter what. If you need someone to talk to you can private message me or email me amy_69_angel@yahoo.com.

I did buy the program an I am on session 4. It's a battle on it's own just to do it, because I am so physically ill. Sorry to here your in the same boat, but I can't relate to panic attacks. I have never had one. I read and heard alot about them and I am aware what they are, but I have never had one. Thank God! I Have completed group and individual therapies as well and done alot of reading and natural supplements, but nothing provides relief. I am in Canada and we don't have to pay for our health care. I have seen many docs but none of them will look past my thyroid. I real feel there is something more to it than just anxiety alone.
