Hi,

I am new and have a question for everyone. I've been having bad anxiety lately and am wondering if anyone has shook almost uncotrollably during a panic attack. I also have that butterfly feeling in my stomach. So scary for me. I feel so alone right now because I feel like it's not a symptom of anxiety disorder. Anyone experience this?

Dear yanya-

It's just anxiety. It can completely change the way your body functions. I know this because i have been experiencing the symptoms of anxiety in a way that I never have before.
And it can be scary and lonely. But it really has only the power that i give it. I know this, but the challenge is to get my body to respond to what i know. Its just anxiety. I dont start shaking, but I get cold and my heart thuds, I then get kinda numb to physical feeling and feel almost stoned and amazingly disconnected from my body and the world around me. It has taken as long as a day to get myself back. I know its anxiety. I back track my thoughts and see what was going on in my brain prior, all day leading up to panic; weather I conciously recognise it or not, every thought I have contributes to how my body is feeling.
I dont know if I was much help for you or not, but everyones anxiety is different. I recently got accupuncture and it was the best thing I have done for my anxiety.

I get that too...not so often as I used to but it can happen...the more nervous or riled I get the more the shakes are intense.

All the same skills that you would use for the other symptoms will help with this one too...but I found that if I lay down with a hot water bottle (not that Im cold) but it helps to calm me down.

I dont know if its just a thing with me or if it could help you too but I use it and its easy and helps.

Dont let it scare you....thats the thing with anxiety all the symptoms seem like this just cant be anxiety I must have something worse and that puts us into a worse mess than we were in to begin with.

I noticed your from Orland Park...I am in Elgin IL so we are forum neighbors....take care and breath, do your relaxation, exersise and eat well.

Even if you can only do a short walk a couple times a day the fresh air will do you good and sometimes I wonder if that shake is an abundance of energy and our body has to expell it somehow so it shakes......

Its a beautiful day here in Illinois get bundled up and go for a walk even if you can only get to that corner.....its something.
hang in there.....You will be ok.
Dodger.

Yanya-
I have been dealing with the same symptoms for over a year. The shaking for me is horrible. The butterfly feeling is worse and with all that combined UGH!!!!!!!! I to live in illinois. Imagine being on I-80 coming from New lenox in morning rush hour having those feelings. It happens to me everyday. I feel your pain and sympathize with you. I too felt something elese was wrong with me. I was checked head to toe. Nothing was found. Was told anxiety "heres some meds see you in 6 weeks" I thought me-no way not me. This cannot be happening. But it is and we have to deal with it. Well good luck, and no you are not alone.

Thank you everyone. I feel much better just reading your comments :) I don't feel so alone and confused....relief. It's good to see that a few people are from Illinois. If you ever want to chat let me know. I know sometimes you just need to talk it out. By the way, vpg821 ...you're very courageous for dealing with this on I-80. Hope that I can do that someday :)

Yanya-
I haven't been on I-80 since my last day of work Oct 24th. I got hit with an attack that morning and it lasted for 11 days. I went through this for about 3 months last year and eventually got back on 80. Not sure if i can ever do it again. Keep me posted

Almost anytime that I get anxiety I get extremely shaky. I usually just try to breathe through it and use positive self-talk.

I wish you all the luck in the world! We all can get through this! :)

Everyone take care of yourselves.

Hi Yanya,
Like alot of the others I to have severe shakiness with my anxiety and also alot of nausea I have lost 25lbs. since September so it is not unusual feeling in your tummy I also have severe dizziness with my anxiety I also agree that sometimes the shaky feeling can subside a bit with a short walk even I do think it could be excess energy.
Hope this helps
Take care
Mimi

Hey,

I've had the shakes also.At 1st they really scared me.It got to the point I would say,"I might have the shakes, but I still have to move on",move on with what ever I was doing that is.I still get them, but I understand in my head not to let them get to me.If I shake I shake, consider it exercise for the nerves.
