There is a connection somehow but they aren't sure which came first - chicken or egg. MVP has something to do with your autonomic nervous system being out of balance.
I was diagnosed 15 yrs. ago after an ECHO. I have every symptom of the syndrome. One month ago I had another ECHO - they told me I never had it and that is was overdiagnosed in the 90's. It is wierd after all of these years to think that I don't have it. Go figure. Now I have nothing to blame any palpitations on!

I was also diagnosed with MVP back in 2000 when I had complications of Pulmonary Emboli. In all the testing they found it. I have had issues with anxiety for a long time, but never related the two. Interesting to look at it from this perspective. So if this is the case, would treatment for MVP help anxiety if the med were strong enough? Makes me wonder...
Go to <A HREF="http://www.mvpsupport.com" TARGET=_blank>www.mvpsupport.com</A> and read up on it.
If you are willing to join the message board then you will see there is a whole section for anxiety and panic. A lot of the members always say that anxiety it their worst symptom.
If is definitely related somehow.
I have a couple of books on MVP syndrome and anxiety is a big part of the problem according to the books also.
