I am sitting at my computer just now when all of a sudden my heart starts beating fast, but it's not like the fast beats you get after running up the stairs. It was more like in between each normal beat was two extra beats. This lasted I would guess 5-7 sseconds. So for 5-7 seconds, my heart was beating fast like this.
I immediately put my hand to my thorat to feel my pulse and confirmed this indeed is what it was doing. It then paused after the 5-7 second episode and then had a normal pattern (thought slightly fast due to my fear, I'm sure).
Five minutes later I am typing this and it's' a normal resting heart rate.
It's noon time where I am at. I have not had anything to eat today yet but am about to eat some lunch (just not hungry for breakfast this morning). I have had nothing to drink except water and havent' had anything except water to drink for the last week. I never drink coffee, very rarely have tea (tends to be in the winter when I'm cold) and I don't drink any soda with caffeine in it. Once in a while I may have a sprite.
Have others had this?
Thank you to all that respond
Heart flutters
u are hungy. those flutters are anxiety symptoms but I think you have them today because your body thinks you're starving. I know because I have a problem with eating- I just can't remember to eat. I have to have people to remind me. I even gain weight because of it. I was told that my body thinks I'm starving so it holds on to the fat that I eat to protect itself. Isn't that strange? Our bodies needs nourishment. Starving yourself will cause more anxiety symptoms.
yes, yes, yes...it is because we THINK too much...it is a wave of anxiety that comes and goes like a wave..my suggestion is to NOT take your pulse, float with the feeling..try to attach something funny to it ex. oh, it's the my funny little heart just saying hi to me, no big deal and picture your "funny little heart" waving to you or something like that...this will help it dissapate quickly when we don't put a "FEAR" factor on the event...I'm in week 6...you will be fine BE PATIENT and PRACTICE the above..thanks
Boy, can I relate to that feeling. I get it quit often. I use to freak out when my heart started fluttering and then put myself into a panic attack. I am doing a little better by trying to think positive thoughts and divert my attention to something else when my heart does these flutters. Its HARD!! We, anxiety personalities, tend to focus WAY TOO MUCH on our vitals such as our heart beats. I am sure yall can relate to this....I am always checking my pulse to see if it's "normal". How silly it sounds when I type it but thats exactly what I do. I say to try to eat because sometimes your blood sugar will plunnet causing your heart to do those fluttering thingies. Sounds like you are already staying away from caffeine, so am I. If you ever need anyone to talk to,just let me know...I completely understand what you are going through. Just remember, its ONLY anxiety and IT won't hurt you. We can overcome this ANXIETY thing. Take care and God Bless!!

I too get like that!! Then I start fill like I am going to faint because I scare my self so much! Thinking maybe I’m going to have a heart attack or something is wrong with heart!! I try my hardest to think of something else...but sometimes it's so impossible because I’m too focused on my heart beat...I will also feel my pulse, and it will scare you more! Best thing to do is try your hardest to think of something happy!! Also try to drink tension tamer with chamomile tea. That will calm your nerves....
i know exactly what you feel. I get it now and then but i know that it isn't anything that will hurt me so i dont worry about it. Just today i didn't eat lunch at the same time that i normally do and was sooo hungry. Then i started to feel really anxious. So i told myself that i feel this way because i need to eat. I went had a Chipotle
burrito (yumm yumm) and shortly after i felt that the anxiety calmed down. So just keep a healthy snack with you at your desk, car to tie you over. Almonds are great to munch on for me and they are super healthy.
