unable to stand the color of the procol harem pool - lol - i left work at 1:00. since my lunch is from 1-2 that's only 3 hours off. it was SO worth it too!
i stopped at the pool place down the road and got a new skimmer basket - mine was broken beyond all belief - and chlorine shock. what pool guy told me yesterday is the salt that goes into the pool creates chlorine. i'm not a chemist or rocket scientist so i'll take his word for it. last night he asked if i had any shock and didn't.
i was a maniac in the pool place. i wasn't really rude - just frantic. there was a guy in front of me getting water samples done on his pool. he was a talker and i knew it was going to take him a day and a half to finish. i threw my things on the counter and said "ring me out - please ring me out - i've got to get home - i've got to get home - i've got to get starting - now - now - now. manic and frantic - they rang me up.
i threw on my hard rock cafe tie dyed boxer shorts and a camisole and was out by the pool. i put the shock in and started sweeping and sweeping and sweeping it down. all the salt pool guy put in last night was clouding the green water so i knew i was doing my part. my arms will be so toned!
in between sweepings, i started clearing out AND throwing away back yard clutter!!!! yes i did LOL
the pool is now a pretty blue - not clear yet but blue. the yard is cleaned beyond an inch of it's - and my - life. everything is practically what i had hoped it would be!!!!
people with walking around sense clear all the trees away from their pool area because of leaves and such. i'm not one of those people LOL what i'm creating is a pool that looks like it's in the woods. there are trees surrounding it and by mid-summer, there will be overhanging branches at the deep end. i guess what i'm trying to create is a cottage setting? anyway, i love it. it's cozy and private. there are very sunny places so i can sit in the sun.
i'm looking forward to the dragonflies this summer. when i'm lying by the pool, they come light on my toes - and it's the neatest thing ever!!! very soon the lightning bugs will be out - i just can't wait!!!!
after i worked like a field hand getting the backyard clean, i wound down by mowing the area in front of the garage next to the woods. i am dirty and covered with pollen and had leaves and such in my hair when i finished, but it looks great too!
please please please don't think for a minute i'm bragging about anything - i'm not!!! it's just that this year i'm happy. the sunshine has filled me with such energy. i'm having fun - something i missed along the way for too long a time!
i hope your tomorrow is the best yet! if i stay on track, i plan to start painting the inside side lights and front door.
let me know how your projects come along tomorrow!!!!

Hi Karma! I am so impressed with all of your home improvement, you need your own T.V. show! We have a pond so I know what you mean about the dragonflies and lightening bugs, I LOVE watching them so much. Last year we had blue dragonflies, green dragonflies, and red dragonflies...I was so impressed until my daughter read an article saying there are hundreds of types of dragonflies, oh well they were still impressive and fascinating. I hope they will eat up LOTS of mosquitoes(SP)! Hey Man of Music...do you have pictures of the bubbler rock you can post? I would dearly love to see it. I can relate to you wanting to do your yardwork when the temps are in the 50's, I love that, too but I live in the deep south so I don't get that opportunity very much. I think I am the only person around who is NOT happy for the warm weather, I will be sweating like a hog from now until about December! ROCK ON!

I got everything done that I wanted to this weekend !!!!!!! I even went for my walk at the river today. This is the first weekend in a long time where I actually feel like I accomplished what I set out to do. As I was shovelling mulch into the gardens, I started to get stuffed up and my nose started to run. That's the first time that's ever happened to me. Can you get allergies as an adult that you never had as a kid ?
The weather stayed cool so it made working outside a breeze (pardon the pun). It's supposed to stay cool all this week too, so maybe I'll find other stuff to do outside.
I will take a picture of the bubbler rock once my brother gets over here with the camera.
Did you get more work done outside this weekend ? That cottage setting is so cool ! It is a pain having trees around a pool, but it does look nice (and privacy is a good idea).
Hope all went well this weekend for all !

Also, as for the talker at the pool place....I had a talker in front of me at the grocery store. She had a ton of stuff to check out too. I probably would've done the same thing you did, but I kept my cool.
I breathed, muttered some comments quietly under my breath and made it thru ok. ! I think I muttered something like "yak yak yak yak yak yak...". I made myself smile a bit ! LOL Seeing you at the checkout would've probably made me burst out laughing ! LOL

is it hard to have trees near the pool? well people with walking around sense don't have trees anywhere near their pools - so figure it out LOL x forever
i have worked like a field hand. i got the inside of my front door and side lights painted - yay. looks beautiful!!!! this afternoon i painted 2 aderondik - couldn't spell that word right now for anything LOL - chairs painted and a super old rusty metal "boing" chair. pure vintage!!! i collect old lawn furniture. my hands are SO tired!!!!! and it's worth every brush stroke!!!!
yes you can get allergies as an adult. they - whoever "they" are - say allergies are the worst ever this year from the cold winter. i've been very lucky as i live outside in yellow pollen and have it all through the house!!! right now i have a headache but it's probably from painting everything but the boys to infinity and beyond.
i wonder if i'm manic right now - or if this feeling of happiness is normal - because i am so very happy. i have so much energy and want to do everything and more. it's not like i'm frantic around here like i was at the pool place LOL i do things at a normal pace but when i'm finished with one project, i move to the next. i'm not stopping and watching tv or getting online. this is SO new.
i was listening to a sarah mcclachlin cd - surfacing - i've had for years and came across the most beautiful song - i'd never paid any attention to it before. the song is called "full of grace". i know it's a song about love ending but the words called out to me differently. for me the song speaks of going to the depths of depression and finally "surfacing" from those depths and being full of grace. that's my epiphany of the week i guess LOL
i'm so glad you had a good weekend. as always i hope your tomorrow rocks!

I wish I had all of the energy you guys are putting out in the world.....All I did was take an old heavy wooden ottoman chair my Mom had thousands of years ago and GUESS WHAT....I gave it to a Carpenter Friend of mine to fix.....WHY YOU SAY???? My dear brother took all the tools (my Dads, RIP) to Virginia. I have nothing to work with here. SO FRANK, that chair is your little piece of artistry now to work on.....wish I could have did it. creamcheese

no sweetie - not taking days off - saving them LOL i did take 3 hours off friday afternoon due to the green pool issue/incident. i knew i wouldn't have enough time to worry with the pool and do everything else i had planned over the weekend.
i went to bed last night with an ice pack on my wrists so i'd be able to work my hands today. they were so sore and tired from all the painting. sometimes i do too much because i want it done then - not later. i'll start to slow down now - if only just a bit LOL
i think i almost caught the boys googling "manic" yesterday afternoon - as in "is mama manic?" they looked guilty and closed down the web page really fast!!!! LOLOL
mama got back from illinois this afternoon around 1:30. she had a great time. her brother was stunned by the suprise of his 3 sisters and 1 brother and his wife showing up. then when they went to the club - it was even a bigger surprise. 240 people were there yelling happy birthday! how cool is that? 4 or 5 men had been tapped to speak. he's an attorney - was once the state assistant attorney general - and they talked about what a difference he's made in the town and how proud they are he chose to live there. that his wife was able to pull it all off and give him no hint - well she is that good LOL
it's a given i'm tired tired tired. it's supposed to rain tomorrow - we need it. go figure. it rained so much through the winter and now it's bone dry!
i found my copy of don miguel ruiz's "the mastery of love." since i've worn out my copy of "the four agreements," i started reading it last night. i figure why buy his latest book - "the fifth agreement" - before reading this one? i've had it for years but was always reading and reading the four agreements. now the question is - where did i leave it last night? LOLOL at the house where feng shui died.
my day at work was good. yours? i know it was good - i could tell by your post!!!!!

They were either looking up "manic" or looking at puppy porn ! LOL Either way, it's not good. LOL
Maybe I'll hunt those books down.
Work was excellent today. I did have a panic attack around 10:00 this morning, but I breathed my way thru it. I stayed behind my computer and just breathed. I did rock today.
I'm hoping for another rocking day tomorrow.
The party sounded awesome ! Too bad you had to work or you could've gone. (....but only if you could find a dog sitter......)
Here's to a rocking tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!
