How Do You Deal with Disappointment, Frustration, Feeling Down, Minimal Expectations

Thank you THH and can'tdanceandcan'trelax.

I know I won't hear anything from this Monday's interview until next Monday. The HR rep won't be back from vacation until then, and she has to "grade" my "test" which the manager forwarded to her.

I am going to send an email or call the manager I interviewed with two weeks ago tomorrow at my old company to see what's going.

The past couple of days I thankfully having been getting energy back to work on my project and send out more resumes. I had been down and depressed last week.

Wow...you people in the States have some weird interviews ! LOL

I don't understand why they can't tell you by the end of the day. Oh well.....I guess it keeps the interviewers working..........

My mom had told me back in her day (1940's, 50's), they told you in one interview yes or no. Now you have to meet everyone from the porter to the president

. I, like I am sure so many others looking for work, would prefer how job interviews were done. You don't want a no, but it sure beats not hearing anything/no return calls or emails.

Thanks and you too: enjoy the weekend. I got another lift yesterday. I had sent out a couple of more resumes Thursday night and one got a call back yesterday. But, the interview isn't until 7/28. Oh well.

Plus I am hopeful because I made a business decision last night regarding my project to try and get more sales. We'll see how that works out.

Good for you on your decision, hope it works out for you!

Also very good on more interviews. That way you can make choices as to what would suit you better. I too can remember the days (even 70-80's) when, if you had a interview, they would hire you that day. If you didn't get hired, you knew your chances went down greatly. Its is different times for sure.

Something will break for you I'm sure, this is just a challange right now, a difficult one at that. Things will change, they always do. Thats what I'm learning in the program, relax when I can't make things happen in my time. There is a bigger plan going on behind the scenes. It has always been true for me, you will find that it will be for you too! We're on your side!!!

Thanks so much for the encouraging words, THH, especially "We're on your side!!!" I wish I was interviewing with you guys.

Thanks also for the well-wishes on the project. We shall see. It would be better if I had money to really advertise. That's my main problem with the project.

I got an email yesterday and a call today about my resume applications for two different companies. I replied to the email that she could call me back today or tomorrow after 1:30. (Tomorrow I am going to a sales job fair.) She hasn't responded which day she will call so I will have to play it safe with today as the callback day. (If not, then the same goes for Thursday afternoon.) I will return the call either this afternoon or tomorrow morning before I go to the afternoon sales event.

Thankfully I have not been depressed/frustrated/etc.

I started feeling down last night because I was getting a bad feeling about the interview at my old place. I had sent two f/up emails to the manager I interviewed with and didn't get a reply. Last night to distract myself from the negative thoughts, I went downstairs and had a cup of coffee watching the newest litter of alley cats playing around. They're real cute. This morning I started feeling bad again, but I couldn't have my mood affected because I had the sales job fair this afternoon. So I watched the news to mentally bitch about current events and thus offset the negative thoughts/bad feelings. Thankfully the kittens and the news were successful distractions.

The sales fair tugged because it had companies who were mostly commissioned-based positions (no base salary, no Charlie.) Plus they had the people waiting outside the hotel in the hot/humid NYC weather and were bringing them in groups. So yours truly is dressed to the 9s and sweating my bazookas off.

Then I got home and the official word came from my old company, specifically a recruiter and not the manager I met: they were passing on me. I was actually in the middle of posting here when I got a call. Another sales company wants to interview me. So it's happening Friday in the early afternoon.

The Lord giveth and taketh away.

Oh good on the distractions!!!

I always seam to find comfort in nature. Nature always takes care of its self. Kittens are a riot. Too bad they grow up! LOL...

I too hae been spun up, this heat is enough to stress out anyone. I have some big events this weekend and its going to get hotter?! 100*!I know this will pass and I'm reasuring my self this is not the first hot spell I've lived in. But I can relate.

Sorry they are passing on you, but remember that maybe it was not the best job for you. There is something better that will come your way.

I think we get desprate for something / anything and focus on it and get all disapointed when it don't happen or take what we can find just to get working again.

My Brother in law who I told you got hired? He was laid off again! That too was stressful for him, they were working him 10 hours a day. Hes getting too old for 10 hour days, plus the stress of learning a new job.

Something will come to you try to relax and wait it out.
Good for you too on the no salery deal, thats not right.
Maybe that was not from the Lord? LOL...Keep your feelers out there!
