Oh my goodness I just came upon this post and although I feel so bad for you all that have the winter weather phobia's its very comforting to me to know I am not alone with this. I have a huge phobia when it comes to worrying about bad winter storms heading our way. I literally freak out and become a walking anxiety ball of nerves that feels like I have every hair on my body standing straight out like a porcupine. I kid you not! I also go to the weather channels often to view the maps and read the forecast. I especially go to accuweather.com to look at the extended forecast to see whats in the near future. I have a huge huge fear when they say our temps are going way down because I fear our electricity going off and us freezing. I have Raynaud's Syndrome which is a circulatory problem and when my toes and fingers get to cold they go white and numb. Therefore I really worry and make myself sick obsessing about what we would do if that happens. I also feel very trapped when there is snow on the ground and fear no emergency help can get up our hill to help anyone in our neighborhood if the roads get to snow/ice covered. I start dreading winter in October when the temps start cooling down and when it hits the anxiety sky rockets. I can't tell you how many times I say "I can't wait for spring!" all winter long lol. Thank you for posting this thread it's so nice to know others know how it feels to fear winter so much. :( God bless you all <3.

Susan, It is good to know that you're not alone! You're the first person with identical habits and symptoms that I have. I've worked some of the relaxing tapes, I've followed some of the other advice that friends on the site have offered, and I'm not feeling too bad at this minute. ( And this minute is all I have!!) The #%#$% snow has started to fall here in NJ,. One or two of the forecasts call for a lot. Others for smaller amounts. As I look at stats, I lean toward smaller amounts. No matter, it scares the hell out of me! I use med to help at times like this. I'll be using it tonight and tomorrow! I also have the heat loss, and power loss, and no emergency service fears. I know these are scary thoughts and what-ifs that don't happen. I'm really trying hard to change my thinking. I'm glad you're here! Keep in touch ...please! Thanks, and thanks to other friends too! F3
