Dee Dee,

Actually, My board certified internist told me about the neti pot and he said it had helped his sinus issues tremendously. So definitely give it a try. He said he was tormented and the use of the neti pot really helped his episodes of sinus problems go way down. Also Dr. Oz, the dude who used to be on Oprah and now has his own show, pushes neti pots. He is a cardiovascular surgeon. So some doctors try natural methods before they stick you on an antibiotic--it probably depends on how bad your symptoms present. If you are a total mess, they usually go for the antibiotics because they can work faster and they don't want you getting any worse. You might want to try the neti pot to try to ward off future issues.

Thanks so much samcat! The antibiotics helped, but it's still here. the strange thing is that it comes on at a certain time of day, sort of like anxiety sometimes do. and it also comes on with stress. it's so strange! :?

Hi DeeDee, I live outside of Indianapolis, so we are in the "sinus and allergy zone" or so I've been told by an internal medicine dr. I also do the sinus rinse and it does help. I've been dizzy the last two days with the fronts coming through and all the rain. I try to push through it but it can be irritating! Hang in there and I hope the sinus rinse helps you too! :)

Thank you so much Ms. Hopeful!

But does this really sound like only sinus trouble to you? I'm starting to question it.

Hi DeeDee, I don't know. I know I've been to two ENT doctors and they both say allergies and sinus. I also get fluid build up in my ear but that mostly causes dizziness and ear pain. I know I get alot of pressure with sinus. I have it right now. Since you've have a CT scan that would rule out most serious issues. I've had that and an MRI for the dizziness. Everything comes back ok. I don't know how much of it could be related to anxiety? I know I get dizziness more with anxiety so maybe head pressure could be in the list too?! Do you feel like the muscles in your upper back or neck are tense? I know there are muscles that run up the back of your neck and behind the ears that when they are tensed up can cause alot of pressure. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Yes Ms. Hopeful. My neck muscles are always extremely tight from anxiety. I'm going to make sure to be aware of when I'm tensing those muscles. That just may be part of the problem. Thank you for mentioning that!

Morning DeeDee, you are welcome and I hope you feel relief soon. Get someone to give you a good old neck and back massage!!! :) There is a pressure point that my old chiropractor used to use on me and my physical therapist did too. If you run your fingers along the back of your neck up to the base of skull, you will probably notice tender spots on either side. If you press into those for a few moments (it feels better if someone else can do it) it will help to release the pressure there. The line kind of runs from the bottom area of your ear over to the center of your neck. You'll know it when you find the spot cause it will be very tender!! The best way is to lay on your back and have someone find the spot and press into it. It doesn't work as well if you are sitting or standing up. Take care.

At the mall they have these Chinese massage places, where you can get a quick 15 minute head/neck massage in a chair. If you do the mall, maybe they have one of those. Or they have a lot of places you can get a massage, there's a chain called "massage envy" that may be able to do that.

Maybe there is one in your area http://www.massageenvy.com/ they have good prices.
