Its great that we women can talk about OUR problems here....I was wondering how you were feeling Book, the body is a wonderful self righteous machine.....it heals itself without our help most times but sometimes it needs a lttle help. creamcheese

Hi Psalms,

I hope that by now your uti is a thing of the past... I came across your post because I am now in the process of treating a uti myself and I wanted to find out if and how well you recovered. I was prescribed Macrobid for my infection just as you were. By day three of the treatment, I was getting so nauseous and dizzy from each capsule that I stopped taking the medication. I called my doctor who said the only other antibiotic sensitive to the specific bacteria was Penicillin and Cipro - both which I am allergic to. I was feeling a little better by day three that I figured maybe the infection was gone. WRONG! Two days later the burning and bladder ache started again. I tried to ward it off with lots of unsweetened cranberry juice and cranberry tablets, but doing that only took half of the discomfort away. At that point I decided to deal with the nausea and dizziness and I started taking the Macrobid again. Two days later I started itching everywhere like CRAZY! The palms of my hands, soles of my feet, groin - Ugh! It was horrible!!! At this point I was scared about how I was going to completely get rid of the infection. I started looking online for natural remedies. I came upon a site that discussed different remedies using apple cider vinegar. I figured, "why not?". It's a natural diuretic so it makes you pee a lot but at the same time, it is alkalizing your urine to where the bacteria cannot survive. It's been two days of taking apple cider vinegar and so far so good. I just wanted to say hi and to thank you for posting about your situation. It makes it a lot easier to deal with these things when people feel comfortable talking about them openly. ;)
