Thank you all for your advice and prayers. I came back to the boards tonight because I was having a bad pure 'O' OCD night. Same old scary thoughts. Please continue to pray for me. I'm still hoping and praying to the Lord for deliverance. God bless.

Good morning Adonaisown and everyone else,

I just ran across this topic. Our God is an awesome God. Many have made some very good observations and many made suggestions similar to what I would have. That's what I found as I read each of the posts on this thread.

One thing that immediately comes to my mind is if you have discussed these concerns with your pediatrician. Quite often, shortly after going through the child birth experience, there is a huge hormone imbalance, that doctors are well aware of. But if it is not brought up by the patient, it will never be discussed.

What I would do is find an appropriate time to raise the subject of post partum depression and hormone imbalances, without bringing up the thoughts or anxiety you may be going through, with your baby's doctor. Sometimes they can provide nutritional guidelines, medication and maybe even support groups for that specific problem.

As someone reading other posts, it is sometimes hard to know from the data provided, and comments made, how to best approach or provide a suggestion. I guess it is because of the age of instantaneous responses, that quite often leave much up to the imagination as sufficient details that may be needed are skipped over, in order to provide a rapid response. I don't know if I am just stupid, and need to know more before I can comment, but I guess it might just be me.

Anyway, you may have already done what I suggest, but if you didn't, I think it may be another thing to check out and follow up on.

BTW, congrats to you and your husband, on your new baby. I please try to remain calm. Practice your breathing, and relaxation modes. Keep praying. We all know how much you and your husband love your baby.

I also agree that God's Spirit, has a hand in all that is good. I think this forum is one of those good things. What about you?

May God continue to shower you and all your family with his loving kindness, mercy, grace, love and protection in all of your comings and goings.

I His love.

Hugs,

Hi I believe God allows us to suffer to strengthen us and to mold us into the image of his son and also 1Peter 3:17- It is better to suffer for the good of His kingdom than for evil doing. Just look at all the phophets that suffered so horribly and they too were human just like us. If I may I would suggest that when that awful fear comes about say to your self No!this is a lie: I have nothing to fear for fear is a false evidence appearing real. I know my love for my son is real because perfect love casts out all fear and hold or play =just love your son and cuddle and coo him for he is a beautiful blessing -gift from God and I also would recommend to get the program-getting the program will make more of a better person/mother,etc that you already are and it will also equip you to help others you may come across in the future -in areas you had once struggled in. Take care and remember Jesus is your Great High Priest: He hears all prayers and your heart. Take Care. Mary Lou

Keep being the great mom you are. Don't let the thoughts discourage you. All the negative thoughts want to do is discourage you from being the good mom you are.
Keep cuddling, playing, changing him, holding hime, taking him out to the park,etc...=taking care of him. You are loving him as you take care of him even when you talk and coo to him when you do that you are doing as it says in I Corinthians 13:4-8.You are giving (loving)when you even clean your home. You are also giving as you take care of your beloved child and that love will kick out all that ugly fear which is not true because you have your Saviour-your best friend ever, and the lover of your soul and the list goes on = Jesus. When you give to your son and your husband, etc. and even to yourself you are loving Jesus. Allow that love (light=Holy Spirit) pour out onto your husband, son, friends, neighors, etc.. and even toward yourself. Take pictures of your beautiful family with a camera, in your mind and heart. Make a family album using your creative mind using construction paper, or even with buttons, ribbon,etc... I know this because I went through this myself and i lost most of my kids precious development because of OCD and of a bad past of bad parents. Remember as even you love your family you are trusting Jesus and your keeping your eyes -mind off of the negative and unto Jesus(by loving and taking care of your family and going to appts. for self, etc... or what have you) whom is postitive. love you take care for I know Jesus is taking great care of you your Comforter.

What I've learned as I go through OCD is: He wants us to rely on Him by trusting Him, maybe there is someone whom you will be able to help in someone elses life-only those who have real experience can help someone who than one who only has book knowledge, he's working in your heart-He is molding your from the inside out to be like Him for He is our Potter and we are merely just the clay. If we weren't His clay he wouln't be able to mold us and he only knows how much we can handle for he went through it for us and concoured it for us. I think I spelled "concoured" correctly. You can correct me if i'm wrong. and the list goes on and really only He knows for He is God and I am not. This is only what i've learned in my own experience and makes sense for others who go through this just like the disciples went and preached the good news and we have experience where we can preach the Good News and with those who suffer from OCD and it's a good idea to keep a journal so you can see your progress and use it as a testimony to someone whom is going through OCD and a new mother. Jesus only knows why your going through this and why He is allowing you to go through this for every person is different and unique and beautiful in their own way. I just believe He's molding you into His image. Just keep pressing on and into your best friend as you are now doing and enjoy you family and new addition.

Hi and good morning to all,

When we feel as though we are being singled out for some wrong thing, is a feeling that many of us go through. Here is a thread on this forum that begs and answer to this question. Please read and follow the responses.

http://bbs.stresscenter.com/ev...?r=38110017#38110017

Watch these videos for support and encouragement. We may not hear his voice cause our concerns loom so large that it is difficult for us to hear His voice. Try to relax, and focus your full attention to these videos, and song presentations. They are excellent:

When you start to see the victory, you will be singing just like this lady:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xYvBTd58xw

Listen to this album over and over again, but each time you do; focus solely on the songs, their lyrics, their back ground vocals, the instrumental arrangements. Be still and know that He is God and no matter what you may think you know, or what others think they know or believe; God is in control:

If you need a partner to yoke yourself to to help you get through whatever you are facing, call on Jesus. He does hear and answer your call. If you need to have a brother in the Lord help you, I am here. PM me we can exchange numbers, or yahoo instant messenger id's, where we can talk, and I will help you with prayer, and all the Lord inspires me to help you get through whatever! When it comes to doing whatever the Lord is my friend and he doesn't let me down; so I do whatever it takes to lift Him up!
My grace is sufficientwas what the great Apostle Paul heard the Lord respond when he asked the Lord the same things you are asking. We all have our burdens, our crosses, our thorns to bear. What did Job do, when he lost his whole family, His wealth, everything? He praised the Lord! Are we greater than these giants of the Bible? Of course we don't any such thing to happen to us, but look to the history and wisdom that can be found in the Bible. It is all there, you just have to seek and you shall find it. But you have to look as you are truly seeking. Sometimes it is easier to find the answers to things when you partner up with a study buddy, and a prayer warrior.

In the meantime, I'll get back to my studies, but I have my email on all day, and my messenger on to notify me of mail and messages. I'll be waiting to hear from you.

I do it all for His praise, glory and the joy and pleasure it gives Him!
All for His praise, glory and the joy it gives Him.

Hugs, In His Love >:D<

I just wanted to tell you all how much I love you, the body of Christ. Your beautiful posts/replies have been a blessing to me.

My son turned One June 22, 2009. I came to the forum because I'm having a bad HOCD night. I wasn't having them for awhile when I was taking extra B vitamins (B-1 Thiamin, B-2 Riboflavin, B-3 Niacin, B-6 Pyridoxine, B-12 Cobalamin, Biotin) and the amino acid L-Tyrosine. I recently lost my appetite due to a stressful family situation and liked the loss of baby weight that came with it. I stopped eating regularily and stopped taking the vitamins (can't take them on an empty stomach). Well, here I am again, back in the HOCD pit.

I will be going back on the vitamins and eating regular meals. I really felt better/clearer when I was taking the supplements. Thought I'd share my experience. I'm also taking 100 mg. Zoloft, 100 mg. Luvox, and Clonazepam .5 mg as needed.

I got the vitamin information from Dr. Eric Braverman, a Christian doctor that has been featured on Benny Hinn. I think the western world diet of processed foods, fast food, and meals-on-the-go have contributed to the brain chemical imbalance associated with OCD, depression, bi-polar, and other mental health diseases/problems. I know God has the power and the willingness to heal but once he does heal us we just mess our brain chemistry up again if we continue the same dietary habits. Just a thought I wanted to share.

Love you all,

Your sister in Christ

Lori

Hi all,

Lori, I am so glad to hear about all the positive developments. Praise God! It seems you are drawing nearer to the Lord and He is drawing nearer to you. Please continue learning more of Him, as your faith grows and grows and you get stronger in His word.

Lori, I have shared this ministry several times and you may have missed. I believe that it may be a help to you as you draw closer to the love of God and His truth that is making you free. They have a daily 1 hour radio program that is archived, along with several free study series. I encourage you to utilize this ministry and their help and counseling ministry:

http://www.lovinggrace.org/index.html

Please read the linked page to find the other links to the series: "We have the mind of Christ," and link to the radio and podcasts. I pray that you and others that want to draw nearer to the Lord to learn more of Him to develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship that helps you in so many ways that you will be amazed. All you have to do is go to the link, pick up your Bible and grow as you go. May God bless each of you, in Jesus name I pray. Amen!
All for His praise, glory and the joy it gives Him.

Hugs, In His Love >:D<

You are in my prayers. The program is extremely helpful. Ebay is a good source. If you can't afford the program start with buying a book for $7.99 entitled. What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. It is a good first step. It is recommended in the program and it changed my life. It helped me understand why I would get those scary and self defeating thoughts. Also view the movie, The Secret. Focus on positive thoughts. If you get a scary thought, try to change the thought. Don't give the scary thought food to grow. Remember they are thoughts. If writing down your positive thoughts do that. A Gratitude Journal can be helpful. Each day write down what you are thankful for. And write down what you want to accomplish that will help you. God has blessed you with free will. Believe in yourself. You have the strength to care for your baby and yourself.
