"So I've always loved God and been a Christian, but lately I've been questioning things."
I've been in your shoes, I've been through the same thing, it doesn't make u a bad christian or a bad person to feel this way. We all struggle with our faith and beliefs, but trust me when I say this makes your faith stronger. God wants you to talk to him about these things, he knows this happens, so don't lose heart he will show you the truth.

Hi, I was born in England and brought up as a Protestant, went to Sunday School, Church for a while and really left to follow my own way regarding religion. I do feel there is something, a Higher Power than us or something, but have to admit I do question. One thing that sticks in my mind is that say I had been born into the Catholic or any other faith for that matter, I feel that now I would most likely be a staunch Catholic or whatever. So I can't help but wonder how much of this is brain-washing, if you haven't known anything else since birth then perhaps it's no wonder that that is what you believe as you grow up. I just wish so much that we didn't have so many religious extremists, I feel that is so dangerous in this crazy world of ours. Does anyone have any comments? I would love to hear.

I personally believe that it's ok to wonder about the world and all the creatures in it and how they came to be. It seems like God loves you no matter what the specifics are :-) This may sound a bit open-ended, but many Christians feel that the scientific theory of evolution and the miraculous creation of our world are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Are they less "saved" than those who discount evolution. I doubt it, but only He knows, we cannot know for sure. Further, questions are part of being human and are the stuff of faith. The mere fact of having questions does not make you less loved by God. In my opinion, spiritual questions and scientific answers to them can get ridiculous and vice versa- scientific questions with spiritual answers are often not appropriate or are irrelevant. For example, how can you quantify the effects of prayer on healing. You can't; science is not applicable in this case. How would one conduct a double blind or placebo study? You can't; prayer is a thing of spirit and belief. So, try not to be too hard on yourself. Ultimately, your relationship with God is personal and the details work themselves out. It doesn't really have to be one or the other. You are good enough for God. Blessings,

It is absolutely true that religion preaches the good things and diverts our lives to success. Your post reminds me of one another post which i have seen at http://www.succcess.org/2008/09/01/the- ... omments based on success in life. Your post also depicts the lesson of success.

I am not only going through this program but I have also started working on my faith. I have learned amazing things in the past week! God wants us to be happy and have joy. Anxiety has robbed us of that. God doesn't instill anxiety in us, his opponent does. Without realizing it, we have let him win. I know without a doubt that God is excited for us to find programs such as this to get the help we need so that we can have the life he so desires us to have. The only thing that is bigger than what we are dealing with is God. I have to believe that he is by my side every minute helping me on my journey. I can't touch on evolution, I don't have any education to support what little I would have to say on the subject, but, I encourage you to keep searching. You won't turn up empty handed. Joyce Meyer has written a book titled "Battlefield of the Mind" it comes with a workbook that will encourage you to seek out scriptures and study them and get to their deep meanings and how they apply to our lives today. It was given to me this week as a gift and I have been doing it along with the program. Basically, she says that if you expect to win the battle in your mind against negative thoughts and anxiety and every disorder that leads us to a less joyous life then you better do it with God. The Bible is full of stories where negativity was the problem, God helped to restore them and get their thoughts back where they should be. It helped people to become better spouses and parents. As a wife and a mother, not only do I owe it to myself but also to my husband and son. Find your motivation and don't ever let it go!
