Further more I am shocked to see the way people are treating people. No one needs to go to AA and support all of the after sobers like myself, which I have been there and done that. If it werent for this site I would probably be dead some where and all because people are significant buttheads! Lucinda Basset created this site for a reason and it was to help people like us who have hardships that we eventually get through if we have the compassion and support given by our fellow man! Amen

Sometimes people need our love and not be labeled as help! Thats all

I also agree with Eddie. You cannot solve a problem until you admit that you have one. If you are drinking and blacking out or even drinking and it's causing problems for you OR people around you, you have a problem and need AA. We are on a anxiety and depression site, so there are many people on medication. If those people that are drinking are also taking medication, they are combining drugs and alcohol which can be DEADLY. Alcohol stays in your system longer than you think. Your age, weight, sex, and the rate your body "flushes" toxins out of your system determines how fast you get "rid" of the alcohol. So if you think that the alcohol is out of your system when you take your medication, you may be wrong, and you may be mixing drugs and alcohol, which is frightening. Many people die from this. You are not only hurting yourselves, but also people around you that care about you. This is a serious addiction. Therefore, people shouldn't "baby" people that abuse alcohol. Think about what you're doing to yourselves, and get help!

Take care. DeeDee.

Hello Gloomyguy.

I am sorry that you feel that way, but you have said yourself that If it wasn't for AA you would probably be dead. If telling someone that "blacks out" from drinking that they need AA is such a bad thing, then why did you go? Was it good enough for you but not for them?

I'm not the kind of person to "sugar coat" things when I think someone could hurt themselves. I don't just pat someone's back and say "don't worry it's okay" because it's not. I don't just stand by and watch things like this happen without saying anything about it. Blacking out then coming on the site to tell others sounds like a "cry for help" to me. That warrants help not a hug.

I don't think that it's wrong to care about another human being enough to try to "nudge" them in the right direction. I don't want to hear something horrible about something happening to one of them after they "blacked out" somewhere.

THEREFORE I DO NOT APOLOGIZE. I CARE !!!!!!!!!!

Take care, DeeDee.

This is an example of a poor judge of character!

Gloomy, How is that POOR JUDGEMENT OF CHARACTER?

Explain.

Free at last, If you go to a professional therapist and you tell them what you told us here, they are going to tell you something along the same lines that I did. Goodness, I'm sure you can handle advice that's not always "soft and fuzzy".

DeeDee.
